I think we could do with a Rise of the Robots remaster, one that makes the game actually good. Let Netherrealms or someone else develop it, it's basically Warner anyway. And since snarky names are all the rage nowadays, they could even call it Rise of the Reboots. That was mainly developed here in Congleton, if I remember correctly. Trust us to be renowned for one of the worst-received games ever! My brother-in-law and I were SO excited about it, as we both owned CD32s. We did our best to "appreciate" it. What a letdown! It was one of my first games when I got a PC, imagine that. But I was 9 years old, and coming from a C64 meant I barely had any idea of what a fighting game should be like, so I didn't hate it as much as most, simply because I didn't know any better yet. The robot designs were cool, I guess. And the graphics did look great in SVGA on a CRT monitor. But even at such a tender age, I remember being annoyed by many of the issues. Stuff like "why can't I play as any of the other robots?" or "man, that green robot is totally overpowered". It didn't help that the PC version was a lot harder than the other ones. I guess if a game is bad enough, even a kid can tell.

Chocolate M&Ms are far better than peanut ones.

I'm still undecided whether I like the blue packet M&Ms. Even after eating a whole bag of them I'm not sure I actually liked them.

I quite like the crispy ones.
The salted caramel ones are utter gash.

Peanut butter ones are the best though. Heresy! Peanut ftw. I tried the PB ones, thinking they would be nice, but they were a bit salty if i remember rightly. I was disappointed. A 1kg bag of peanut M&M's and I'll be quiet for quite a while. Right up until I'm sick after eating the whole thing in a one-r!

This seems relevant now, peanut butter is gross.

The OG M&Ms are head and shoulders about the inbred offshoots.

I... I actually like the salted caramel ones.
No idea what the obsession with salted caramel is recently, mind you. It seems to be a flavour variation for nearly every sweet out there.

I like them as well. They seem to take ages to eat though.

Peanut butter is great! At least, crunchy is - I'm not sure I've even tried smooth, but it sounds like an abomination.

I quite like a peanut butter and jam (jelly for the Americans) sandwich, you need the sweetness to neutralise the effect of the peanut butter

retro74A man of taste and culture! PB&J is a solid sandwich option - the crunchiness of the peanut butter adds a nice bit of texture, while I've had success with various different kinds of jam.

I made a PBJ with chilli jam a few times. Was pretty damn nice!
They're also nice when done in the same style as an American grilled cheese, or in a sandwich press...

This afternoon, my viola teacher informed me that she has a fear of jam. Also roadsweepers (the vehicle, not the person) and gnomes, apparently.

Zombies suck. In film, TV, and games. So fucking uninteresting

I lagrely agree that zombies are shit. There are some good shows that contain zombies, but thats because the actual human characters are interesting, and the conflicts between the humans are interesting. But then some things put too much focus on the zombies, and it becomes pretty boring. At best zombies are just an event that brings people together - or keeps them apart - in groups that wouldn't normally happen. This event could be something more real, like, war, famine. It could be a more interesting horror-genre threat. But zombies are just too easy and oddly popular, despite being shit.
Related, post apocalyptic media, games especially, keep shoehorning zombies and mutants into it. I want my The Road: The Videogame. I Am Alive was a thoroughly mediocre game, but it's really stuck in my memory because it presented a post-apocalyptic scenario without fucking zombies.

I say that the whole "humans are the real danger in a decayed society" is such an overused cliché at this point, I hate it even more than zombies.

Maybe it is overused but it'd be a pretty boring film without any conflict.

I’m okay with zombies, it’s post-apocalyptic stuff that bores me to tears. Fist of the North Star is like the one exception.

Oh yeah, "post-apocalyptic" is horribly overused. Reading that word in any description of a game or film or whatever makes me squirm. Not least because most of the time it involves wastelands, and wastelands are just inherently uninteresting.

Let's just not bother with any speculative fiction. It's for the best.

I prefer "pre-apocalyptic" myself. Just people going about their lives oblivious to their own inevitable downfall.
