On the topic of music, guitar virtuosos are the worst. There's no denying that people like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai are technically accomplished but they lack the feeling in their playing and songs.
Guitar wanking gets a thumbs down from me.

I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Uh, how fucking old are you?

I remember Elkie Withers at the Winter Gardens, what a grand old time! Rationing was about to end and already my father had gotten a hold of some fresh corned beef, so we took sandwiches and a lovely sponge for a sweet. When Elkie sang 'Tootle Tootle Trick Track' we all pulled our skirts up to our knees and danced with gay abandon. Father died of pleurisy within the year, I'll never forget him smiling lighting his woodbine that night.

Could not agree more. Compare them to bands like Interpol who play the simplest riffs you can imagine but get across bags of atmosphere, melody and emotion with it.

Guess you wouldn't be a fan of Nitro then.

Despite the fact that it’s been shit since the end of season 4, the opening 15 minutes of season 6 episode 10 of Game of Thrones is the best made bit of television ever.

The only genuine complaint I’ve ever made to a company was to the radio station, JackFM. I used to work at a place that has it on all day and they used to play so much Phil Collins and Collins-Era Genesis that I wrote to them and said they should change their name to PhilFM.
I was never a fan but now I absolutely fucking hate him. One of the very few artists I will immediately turn off if I hear them.

Is that blowing up of Kings Landing? Yes, the wildfire in the sept scene. The build up, the direction, the music, it’s perfect.

All black football boots with modern kits don’t look cool and retro, they look like you forgot your trainers on PE day and the teacher is making you wear your shoes.

Wasn't so long ago you were singled out for being a showboat if you had fluro boots. I was thinking about that the other day.

I am not a fan of puffed wheat snacks. I don’t mind the occasional Wotsits or Monster Munch. But I would always go for crisps, peanuts or scratching.

There is an interesting* episode of snackmasters on C4 where they get professional chefs to try and recreate common snacks. One episode they have to make monster munch and one guy works out puffed snacks are made by firing a paste at high pressure through a nozzle, so he buys a machine off wish or something and makes a 3ft monster munch.
*I found it interesting. YMMV

Seen Homes under the Hammer for the first time in ages. I'd fucking bin off HMOs full stop. Student flats/ houses are one thing but the concept of shoving 6-8 people in a converted 4 bed houses with one kitchen can get to fuck.

I think we could do with a Rise of the Robots remaster, one that makes the game actually good. Let Netherrealms or someone else develop it, it's basically Warner anyway.
And since snarky names are all the rage nowadays, they could even call it Rise of the Reboots.

And since snarky names are all the rage nowadays, they could even call it Rise of the Reboots. That was mainly developed here in Congleton, if I remember correctly. Trust us to be renowned for one of the worst-received games ever! My brother-in-law and I were SO excited about it, as we both owned CD32s. We did our best to "appreciate" it. What a letdown!
