I don't know if this belongs here specifically, but just in relation to the earlier discussion about things we loved when younger that maybe haven't aged terribly well, I'm delighted to have found an inverse of that.
I remember thinking The Fifth Element was fine when I watched it in theatres. Watched it a couple of times on home video and felt mostly the same. Style over substance. Although Chris Tucker playing Space Prince was always a favorite.
Watched it in 4K the other day. Loved it. The story is still nonsense, mind, but for whatever reason everything just worked this time. Willis' charisma and intentional lack of it work, the action is great, the sets are lush, pacing is pitch perfect. Kind of surprised how much I dug it this time.
