Ah I thought you were talking about Netflix or Prime type services when you said streaming. Yeah, just anything non-physical. I dont have a blu-ray/dvd/vhs player in the hizzouz.

I bought a Blu-ray the other day for the first time in for ages (The Re-Animator, tarted up edition). And fuck me when it arrived I realised I no longer owned a BR player and had forgotten that fact.

Aubergines are something I always hated but these days the wife makes a nice moussaka which I don't mind freshly cooked, not a fan of it the next day. Also making little baked chips with them is nice and slices on the bbq too. I don't go out of my way to have it but why not, hidden in a sauce is fine too, but I do mean hidden.
Bond is rubbish though.

Artichokes are my veg that I just don't get. You need to throw 90% of it away to get to the tasty bits. Might as well just buy a jar of artichoke hearts instead.
They're like the veg version of langoustines.

I am sure I've had nice eggplants before. But recent memory tells me that they're all slimey and mushy.

Dark City is in my top list too but my recent rewatch of Highlander was indeed a sickener. Childhood glorious memories trashed. I rewatch it quite often, and it's still the same for me - it was always a bit shit but as long as you don't take it seriously and mock the accents, it's still a fun watch imo.

My blu ray player died because Samsung pushed a firmware update through that literally bricked the player. www.theregister.com/2020/07/18/samsung_bluray_mass_dieoff_explained/So little info was available initially by the time I found out the why I couldn't be arsed to ship it off to be fixed. Tbf saved me some money as it stopped me buying blu rays. It also put me off Samsung entirely.

Had a massive clear out of old tech and media that was cluttering up my house over COVID. Old laptops, my PS4, Rock Band controllers, various bits and bobs. I *did* hang on to an ancient external USB DVD drive that I *thought* was also a BR drive, and then plan was just to rip it. But it turns out (on inserting said BR disc) that no, it was in fact not a BR drive. I presumably used one of the old laptops to rip the BRs I had before. Fuck knows, it was a while back and I'm apparently dementing.
Now that you mention it I do have a disc equipped PS5, but isn't there something weird about that? Like you have to pay extra to enable BR playback or some bullshit?

Dark City is literally my favourite film, and has aged terrifically. It doesn't really have much in common with The Matrix though, aside from a general "what if our world wasn't real" theme. Young male protagonist gets the feeling that something is "off", discovers that reality is is creation of a hidden, powerful group of others, acquires power that combats them and ends with a new understanding of reality and freed from the chains that previously shackled him. Yeah, nothing in common at all I guess when you put it like that, they sound kind of similar. But in reality they're really not, the theming and tone of them are completely different.

Yeah I shoved a BR into my PS5 the other day. It's fine.

So my unpopular opinion is that I don't own a BR player.

Objection.
There's no way to reasonably judge the temperature from that photo; it might have gone cold whilst they were sorting out the lighting.

Can we at least agree that it was a hot hake at some point. Ok. Tbh, I was going to make a joke about the food photos of a certain person who's no longer amongst us, but I thought better of it.

I actually had a dream where he returned to the forum. Only now he spelled his name with three (3) esses. And that's made me consider that somehow I've had dreams about using the forum. Living the dream here.
