It wasn't congealed at all, it's the colour from the anchovies and onion mix. Anyway, it was utterly delicious. /shrug Have you got a photo of what it looked like coming out the other end? Just for comparison. As much as I am a food photo weirdo, that's not something I usually do... The highlands really are different

Slap on a high enough price and market your food as 'cultured', 'locally sourced' or 'native to the region' and people will eat any old shit. What do you base that on? Just experience really - usually people who eat street food and proclaim it's the best thing they've ever eaten when it's about as hand-crafted, sourced and prepared as a local donner kebab.

There is a great pasta restaurant in Glasgow which is an offshoot of the same guy's great pizza restaurant. The pizza place has the ovens from Italy as well as the pizza guys themselves. You can be in and out in 50 minutes with a fantastic pizza and beer for about 12 quid. The pasta restaurant is pretty much just pasta, made on the premises. Fucking fantastic. Limited menu, all done very well. Haven't been since Covid but itching to get back now. I love pasta www.instagram.com/sugopastaglasgow/http://instagram.com/p/CVsTYvzrL95

What did they say? What was the food? Sri Lankan. Said they got the ingredients from whichever supermarket was cheapest. It was in Sheffield. I think I ate it around 3:30pm. I was wearing craghoppers, a hoody and my comfy trainers. There was an easterly wind. Think I was wearing an onion on my belt too (which was the style at the time). They didn't have white onions; the only ones you could get were those big yellow ones.

Okay - I lied about the onions on my belt.

Haha sorry I've just realised that you're the guy who used to bang on about street food at the old place - no wonder you've been hounding me about this.

I like my stories to have an epic log, that's all. You knew someone was going to. And, in a deterministic Universe, you knew it would be me.

I don't mind pasta, but I'm not convinced by squid ink noodles or pasta. Just seemed to make them a bit briny, whilst also making them look less appealing.
Better than stuff coloured with charcoal though.
