Paella is vastly overrated. Do you mean paella amongst other rice dishes from the Valencia Communidad? If so, they you have a point. Give me a senyoret any day instead. Comunidad. Or Comunitat if you like. Sorry but if you insist on showing off how pan-European you are then I'm going to have to pick you up on these things.

Were they just taster portions? Where's the rest of it? It's in Italy, pasta is served as a "primi" first course in a relatively small portion. The massive plate of pasta isn't a thing in restaurants there. I obviously had other courses I presume course 2 was pizza, followed by a pannacotta then an affogato?
I'm just listing italian food things I know of.

But I'm happy to extend it, I mean it's not terrible. I could eat it but have no desire to do so. Same for Biryani but at least that seems properly cooked. So you live near Alicante but don't like the amazing local rice dishes?

I'm not showing off though, "Valencian autonomous region" seemed a bit long-winded and "community" would be confusing. Suggestions?

You put it in your ear holes. I'll have you know my holes are sacrosanct. I don't just go about putting things in them willy nilly.

Errm? I think I'm on the fence with this.
That was my favourite dish of the trip, it was amazing. Bigoli in salsa. Just pasta, olive oil, anchovies, onions and seasoning (afaik). Soooo good. I think that dog needs to get to the vet asap!

You're not showing off? Tira la otra. You think visiting Italy and Spain often is "showing off" worthy?

No, but constantly referring to it and showing pictures of it is a little. We get it.

My dog throws up more appetising looking messes. The only way to prove this is for him to send you some doggy upchuck and you can photograph it and we'll judge.

Although, as much as I like pasta, that grey worm thing (the bigoli?) does not look appetising, I'm afraid. Rather, it looks grey and congealed. I'm sure it wasn't actually. Maybe as you've said before, it's just the photographer...

I like those noodle things in soup but to avoid disappointment best get a curry instead.

Slap on a high enough price and market your food as 'cultured', 'locally sourced' or 'native to the region' and people will eat any old shit.

Any food has the potential to look disgusting, that photo is just antipasto propaganda.

I think paella (in my admittedly fairly limited experience) depends vastly on who cooks it. If you go to a restaurant where it's just on the menu because it's paella and it's expected to be, it's usually ordinary. But I had it a few times in Barcelona where it was literally amazing (once by the beach at Castelldefels and once in Gracia spring to mind, although the names of the restaurants do not, unfortunately).
If you get it on La Rambla or at Barcelonetta, not so much.

I do like us humans - when a man states a personal opinion and everyone then tells him how wrong his opinion is.
