Ah, I can see why they might be annoyed then. The comedy circuit is hard graft by the sounds of it. Still, thems the breaks I guess. Even though I think stand up is generally rubbish, I have a huge amount of respect for anyone that does it. I've been in bands, and if audiences at gigs were like they are in comedy clubs I would've been crying on stage.

Move over Elden Ring, Telltale's The Walking Dead was rubbish I wasn't much of a fan at the time but found myself watching someone play it recently. People always raved about the writing but I'm not seeing it It's one dramatic event after the next, nothing particularly interesting or novel about any of it. Most choices are save person A or B. You can side with someone over and over but go against them once, even over something minor, and they'll leave you to die at the next given opportunity. Clementine's voice actor is also really annoying Killing characters off seems to have been a lot easier than continuing to write or develop them and killing most of them off by the end makes the entire endaevour rather pointless

I did it for a couple of years, saw the likes of Rob Beckett and John Kearns starting out. You have to be a lunatic to want to do that for a living. I burnt out pretty quickly.

I have a friend back in Oz who has ventured into stand up and seems to be doing quite well. Not seen her act yet but she was recently on a bill with some quite famous acts. I do find the stage name thing funny though, she's gone with her first name followed by just the initial or her surname. For example Mickey D.

I don't know whether this will be unpopular hereabouts or not, but the Streets just came up on a Tidal "Your Mixes" shuffle and I was reminded of how much I detest him. Or, the music, at least. I've never heard anything about him as a human being, but my god his voice and lyrics make me feel stabby.
No idea why, it just flips a switch in my head.

See, that song. Absolute shit. I just assume that people who like it have suffered a blow to the head or something. Or need one. *throws hammer*

Yeah I never saw / heard the appeal either tbh. Then again, it's not really my genre, whatever the fuck the genre is.

Yeah Dry your eyes mate is fucking terrible. I did like them at the time and they were a blast live but beyond the first 2 albums it's like what's the point. No longevity, I had totally forgot about them until you mentioned it and I'm unlikely to listen to them now I have been reminded.

Weirdly the first I heard of The Streets was when I was working in a summer camp in Maryland of all places. One of the locals there whom I had become pally with absolutely loved them/him. I just thought it was some weird obscure shit that he'd found but a few months after I returned home it seemed as though everyone was listening to it.

So far this is a popular opinion and should be struck.

They're the kind of thing that I can appreciate without actually liking. They have a distinct sound that comes across as being "from" somewhere. I've no idea it's authentic or if he's actually 2nd in like for the Duke of Westminster, but it is at least it's own thing.
However, I don't think I'd ever chose to sit down and listen to one of their tracks.

Christ, now I've been reminded of the movie Human Traffic, which at the time seemed fucking fantastic. I've probably watched it a dozen times. Not sure I could watch it these days. Pingers were fun.

Here's one - pasta fucking sucks.
Flavourless rubber if overcooked. Flavourless plastic if al dente. Only barely edible if covered in sauce that's tomato based or cheesy. Or tomato based. Or cheesy. Or cheesy and tomato-y. Or some avocado abomination.
Different shapes and sizes don't make it taste any better. It looks like a bowtie - so what? It still tastes like the oral equivalent of watching paint dry.
I've had a few people say "oh but if you have homemade pasta it's so much better - you're missing out". I've tried it three times from three different people and it was still pants (these people are pretty good cooks too). I ended up picking out the pancetta/bacon bits from some shitty carbonara.
I'll only accept it in lasagne for structural purposes (and even then I'm trying to find a substitute).
And before ecosse pops in - I've tried it a few times in Italy too and didn't give a shit.
Pasta - please go away.

Pasta - please go away. Are we in "ban pls" territory here? To be honest though, a lot of foods would be pretty shite (or at least boring) without their toppings/seasonings. Imagine unseasoned and unsauced BBQ ribs or pulled pork. Even most otherwise untouched steaks have some sort of seasoning as part of the prep work. Pizza without cheese/sauce and toppings is just bread with some extra crust, most salads have some sort of dressing to go along with them and so on. Point being, sure pasta on its own may be a bit bland (and even then people can infuse the noodles with all sorts of things) but you can't really judge just that one dish by the "no toppings or sauces" standard and let everything else have them, that's just unfair

And they're ALWAYS cheese or tomato based. Where's the variety?! Don't get me started on salads either. Cucumber is the worst food on the planet. I'm on a roll today!
