Re: leaving lights on.
I've set up an Alexa 'Goodnight' routine that turns off all the downstairs lights, the TV, the central heating and arms the burglar alarm in one go.
Admittedly the only thanks I received for my smart home genius was aggressive eye rolling and being called a geek (fair), but she uses it as well now, and we don't leave lights on.

Skim-read that as turning off the burglar alarm and was just about to grab my baklava But Brain. How would a Turkish pastry help?

Admittedly, it would probably only appeal to the Upper Crust. Those who can afford posh choux.

Scream by Chris Cornell is actually pretty good.

(stolen from the star wars thread) the original trilogy isn't all that and is full of decisions and retcons that make no sense. Yet fans forgive them even though they go mad at similar issues in the prequels/sequels.
Internet forums are a dying format (I say this as someone that runs one & enjoys several others,) and will eventually fade out replaced by social media and reddit.
Those of us who prefer nuanced, in depth, written reviews of games are a tiny minority. Most are happy with day 1 YouTube #content.

This is definitely happening, and it does make me sad. My early days on the Internet were all about hobby forums. Several that I was involved in have already succumbed to your prediction. However, presumably social media itself will evolve into something else eventually.

Same thing happened to newsgroups before them. And BBS's and things like Fidonet before that. Time moves on and nothing lasts for ever.

Scream by Chris Cornell is actually pretty good. My missus has always really liked Scream, but she likes Timbaland too, so didn't experienced the same revulsion most other Soundgarden/Cornell fans did.

Material by The Two Ronnies has not aged nearly as well as older people would have me believe.

I admire Ronnie Barker's wordplay. It really is quite clever. If you find that sort of thing amusing, then yes a lot of their stuff is very good.
I still think The Worm Has Turned, with some obvious caveats because of reasons, was quite ahead of its time.

They (with some exceptions,) don't seem to Foster the same sense of community or run into quite so small niches.

Material by The Two Ronnies has not aged nearly as well as older people would have me believe. I think some of it has. But I’ll throw in my own unpopular opinion on the subject; The Two Ronnies’ Mastermind sketch is much better than four candles. Also the Monty Python Dead Parrot sketch is nowhere near as funny as common opinion suggests.

You can have your Chuck Berrys, you can have your Beatles, Elvis, and Rolling Stones. You can have the Madonnas, Princes, and Michael Jacksons of this world,... but the best absolute pure pop song ever is Gangnam Style.

"Into the groove" came on the radio earlier. Absolute banger! Considering the equipment they had available back then it's a surprisingly tight production. Pop music definitely peaked in the 80s.
