Sat in the second consultation session and struggling to keep interested. That tells me what I need to know. I'll start looking in the new year.

Retained my job earlier this year after a restructure following a TUPE. Now they are planning on making changes to our current rota/shift pattern to a 4 on 4 off basis and remove overtime rates by going from paid by the hour to salary. Less hours for the same money. Result? No not really as they intend to pay us based on last year's standard earnings before any O.T rate and the move to the living wage. If that wasn't bad enough they also expect staff to cover leave/sick days over the year becuase in effect we now owe the company hours. If you don't work these additional shifts they won't take money back but will come in for a "little chat". In a small update to this I received an email from HR (1 person) that went on to say we will have one 2 one meetings with individuals on the four-on-four off roster system. Please reply before Friday (today) to arrange a meeting. So I did and asked who will be conducting the meeting and how soon can it take place as I'll be available from Friday. The few remaining union members have gone about it slightly differently but the reply I got was thank you for your response, I have now passed this to the relevant Management Team. Feel like pointing out that I asked two questions and would like at least one of them answered before the new year. Meanwhile one of two supervisors has quit so all in all it's going well!

Started looking yesterday (just setting up LinkedIn and messaging a couple of people). I've got an interview on Friday for a role. They like the sound of my CV, just have to see if they like me and not that fabrication Anyway, I'm going to treat it as a practice / experience, but its good the CV reads well.

Yeah, first interview in a long time can be weird. Just treat it as practice as you say and don't sweat it if it doesn't go perfectly.
Fair play getting one so quickly. I'm sure you'll end up having to choose between offers.

I'm on leave this week and I've been informed that other members of the team have had a 1to1 with the director.
No new information really other than the owed shifts being 29 which will be made up by covering for sickness and leave and if anyone decides they want to leave you are required to give the company two months notice.
New contracts with all the details will be sent out soon for us to agree and sign. They should have our existing contracts but apparently don't and what's the point in a TUPE process if they can make changes to the terms like this anyway.
I'm guessing I'm out of a job if I don't sign the contract.

That sucks Nitrous. I'm sure there's a loophole somewhere that they will use to suggest your existing contract (you must have a copy) covers what they are suggesting, but consider a word with citizens advice if you're not happy. Does sound like they are holding the cards though which isn't nice.
I had my first interview this afternoon. The guy told me during the interview that he'd want to second interview me and that's now confirmed as on Monday morning. Feedback from the agent was that they are talking about offering me the role straight after the interview and wanted to know what salary I wanted. I'm not counting any chickens, but it's a positive start and has made me a lot happier. It would be a pay rise and better benefits.
I bought myself a steak to celebrate doing well in the first interview at least. I'm knackered. Been a busy week and I've not eaten today.

Currently in the "waiting to hear" stage after a second interview. I'm trying not to listen to the small voice that is replaying my answers in the interview and critiquing how they could have been taken in an adverse way.
One of the interviewers linked me on Linkedin last night, so I felt that was a positive, just wish they would get back to me.

Really happy. Thatβs splendid news man! Happy things are taking an immediate upswing for you this year, knowing last year gage you a bigger kicking than many. Now, can I borrow your CV so I can adjust a few details and try to find some good work before these unpaid bills go to collections?

Thanks I need to pass a credit reference check (takes a week) and then I get the paper contract. Once I've got that and signed it, I will hand in my notice... and I will enjoy it immensly. I will also enjoy the next 3 months where I will serve out my notice and do remarkably little with my current mob. I'll carry on "sort of looking" in the interim just in case. The extra money will really help as I've always had to watch things and I was really worrying about the fuel increase and mortgage rates. Thanks again.

Congratulations Witchking. It's always nerve-wracking in interviews especially after when you think of the things you wish you said as well, but it's great and on your first go, you lucky bastard π
I know it's tempting to do fuck all once you've handed in your notice, but carry on as normal.

I will be. The projects I've got lined up at my current place are ones I'll do at the new one, so it will be good to iron out the problem areas. In my spare time I'll be studying AWS. I also think becoming a lazy bastard is too easy, but stopping being one is pretty damned hard. I'm getting quite drained now. Early night I think.

Sounds like you smashed it. Fair play!
I had to do a three month notice period too and it was great just not giving a shit any more for the rest of my time there. Don't think I logged off any later than 17:00:03 on any of those days.

Congrats!
Gives me hope! I'm not facing unemployment or anything, but I need to start job hunting asap. Been sorting out my LinkedIn and CV, but now I think I'm probably just procrastinating.

Congrats! Gives me hope! I'm not facing unemployment or anything, but I need to start job hunting asap. Been sorting out my LinkedIn and CV, but now I think I'm probably just procrastinating. Feedback from many of the agents I spoke to was that currently the market is "insane". There's lots of roles available but due to covid, no one is wanting to move. Seems counter offers are also a thing as well that are happening (won't be in my case, but the agent expressly asked if I'd accept a counter offer or come back to them, which is not something I've ever been asked). Company in moving to is expanding and that seems to be quite common in those sectors that have not been hit too badly by covid. Obviously it depends on your role, but as a PM, any change needs me... Or someone like me who knows what they're doing π

Signed the contract for the new place and just handed in my notice. Hopefully this time the company won't pull the offer a couple of weeks before I'm due to start.

Spent much longer than I ever wanted to looking up my employment and various other bits of information for the last six years. Tomorrow I've got to scan the information and upload it. There's about 11 different checks they want to do on me. I just hope they don't find this place...

Congrats Witchking!
I'm yet to hear any official news since my last post but according to my union friend any planned changes appear to have been binned. With the problems they have across all sites and the lack of staff to deal with them I wouldn't be surprised. Redundancy payments still not paid, contracts not ready or lost despite TUPE and now staff shortages.

God this is so ramshackle.
A team member phoned me in tears earlier after being blasted by my clueless senior. She pushed back on some amendments on a document and he essentially called her clueless, which she is NOT.
The amendments he is insisting on amount to someone confessing in a report* that they have broken the law and are now liable to pay thousands - all on the basis of a reference/narrative on a bank statement. It's not just garbage but also prejudices any action we could later look at.
*the report is the Director's statement, but we draft it. This is basically a copper putting a confession in front of someone and yelling SIGN THIS.
I have a fighty day tomorrow.
I have sent the touch paper email already.

I imagine the director wouldn't be very happy if that happened.
