Greece is 2 hours ahead of UK, I finished him around 4:00 am, which would be around 2:00 am for you guys!
As for whether it was worth it, well, yeaaaah, he was doing my head in and I got really close a couple of times, so sleep was not an option!!!
EDIT: The final-final boss is kind of optional, necessary only for the "better" endings, if you do suffer with him (possible, I ain't gonna lie) you may skip him entirely...
Τυχεράκια! (Sorry, I'm literally the only member of my family who doesn't speak any Greek, both my sons and my wife have had lessons for several years...learning Hungarian is enough for me for now). Just an hour ahead of us, then. Still, impressive, I can barely stay up beyond 23.00 nowadays Also, sounds like I may skip that optional final boss, ending be damned... If you're thinking about getting all achievements, the final final boss, hard as it already is, becomes almost impossible in NG+ by many accounts... Best to handle it in NG, skip in NG+ and, er... Make other files for any other ending where it's mandatory??? 😅

Thanks. I'm not going for all achievements with P, though I often do with games I really enjoy. I've heard NG+ is a bit of a nightmare...which is a shame.

Full sequel conformed, according to some random’s reading of a Korean developer post. Had to, I guess. Actually be rude not to.

King of Puppets down first try last night (about 10 attempts in total), now exploring the Arcade. As tempted as I am by Lords of the Fallen, I am going to finish this first!

Champion Victor down at first attempt, having the P-Organ upgrade to allow two uses of the wishstone really helps in keeping the specter alive and a constant agro pest for the boss.
I've really found my groove now with my bone saw/dancer handle combo and since King of Puppets have made quick progress. Sure there's another wall coming soon though.

Just started playing this, I like it but on the verge of binning it. I don't understand how to deal with bigger enemies, where are the attack windows? If an enemy has a 3 hit attack pattern, I block/dodge and then midway through my attack (when it should be my attack window) they just spark up the next combo and deal big damage.
I've beaten the 1st boss but the mechanics are either wonky or I'm missing something, even the stagger state doesn't give me a safe attack window, the mobs are straight back into their attacks even though their health bar is grey/white

You need to do a charged attack when they are staggered, you'll then down then and get the chance to do massive damage by hitting attack in the red circle that appears by them.
The game rewards perfect parries the most, but I've also been getting away with dodging most of the time.

You need to land either a charged heavy attack or an attacking Fable Art to actually stagger them. That aside, don't forget about perfect blocks/parries (blocking just as the enemy's attack would land) that let you avoid damage entirely (instead of normal blocking doing the Bloodborne thing) and can also break enemy weapons. And as always in Soulslikes, don't push it. If two attacks get you hit, do only one then back to defence. Even with the health recovery mechanic it still pays to be patient.

I've beaten the Mad Donkey but the mechanics don't feel right, the windows for everything feel way off. Feels like I'm stumbling through the game more than anything. Perfect parries don't even open up a safe attack window, it's wild. Enemies just do not stop attacking it's relentless

Keep in mind that you can hold block and, as long as you have stamina, you will absorb some of the damage that you can take back, if you land some attacks quickly. So, try holding block to avoid the relentless attacks and strike back when they stop. Also, when you are locked on some enemy, you cannot roll away from him, only dodge him, so adjust your distance. Finally, the red attacks of the enemies must only be parried perfectly or dodged.
In my time beating the game, I wasn't persistent in perfect parrying, yet I did finish it and I'm not really a skilled gamer, just stubborn...
Do you play in performance or quality mode? I played in performance. Could it be that the game cannot keep up and lags?
Also, does your weapon scale with your stats?

I finally managed to get a good run at this yesterday. I’ve just killed the third boss, I think, the Furnace robot and I think this is probably where the game starts.
‘Easier’ is probably the wrong word but it takes too long to give you more gear and abilities and it’s only by this point did I feel I had enough stat points and weapons for a build to start taking shape. I’ve got half a dozen swords now and 19, health, stamina and whatever they call skill so I can finally give and take hits.
So, yeah, I would give it until you get to the factory before deciding to bin it. It didn’t grab me at first either but I’m really enjoying it now, constant fast travel to the hotel excepted.

It’s a different take on the combat timings but it works when you tune in to it. Genuinely think it’s the best Soulslike yet made for me and has been a real surprise.

What they've done with the weapons is a stroke of genius, the way you can choose how a handle changes your blade moveset, reach, and scaling. I'm still finding new favourite builds - last night I finally got round to spending time with the Bone Cutting Saw Blade and the Dancers curved sword handle. This might be the one...

Yeah, I found the turbo greatsword last night and put the cattle prod on it. It’s a really cool, if very badly explained, system

I have upgraded this combo to +8 and am finding it so satisfying. Loads more cooler looking weapons, and some of the boss weapons seem very good, but I'm hooked on my dancing bone saw blade Early on I was loving the charged attack from the boost glaive handle as it allowed me to gain ground on the enemies very quickly, as you say, the way weapons work is excellent - adds a great level of depth pissing around with weapon combos.

I keep using others for a refreshing change, but yep- that combo is awesome for a dex build. The step in right trigger sort of upper cut it has is SO satisfying.

One other thing to keep in mind about perfect parties is that it quietly builds up the enemies stagger gauge quite a bit too, so you can get them back into that white health bar, stagger ready state faster. Definitely the way to go, the benefits are so clear but it's undoubtedly tough. I've had to learn the hard way what attacks I can perfect guard consistently and depend on those, while dodging other attacks. Takes practice tho i.e.dying and trying again and again

Really enjoying the flow of the Barren Swamp right now, think I'm coming to the end of the area though...feel the end game is round the corner and sad about that, have really really enjoyed this.

Victor being a pain for me, but it's a good fight I find, as most of the bosses are.
EDIT: And wouldn't you know it, I beat him on the first try tonight lol

Finally got time to finish this today. I'd been struggling on Nameless Puppet for a while - that 2nd phase is Malenia levels of pain - then beat him without realising I was close, must have had shock stacked up, I was just whaling away because I was about to die and he just dropped.
Brilliant game all around. Beautiful atmosphere, a good but fair challenge, and loads of little quality of life touches that even From could learn from.
Strong game of the year challenger for me, and - after that end credits scene - excited to see what direction they'll take the sequel.

I’m really enjoying this. I beat king of puppets at the weekend and have been making decent progress every time I snatch a few hours.
I dunno what the difficulty was like pre-patch but it seems spot on now.

So I have decided to grab this for after Lords of the Fallen, keeping Alan Wake for the spooky late night sessions. How reliant on parrying are we talking with this? Sekiro levels? Thought I was done with souls-likes. Turns out I'm not. My passion has been reawakened.

Its optimal but you can build around being absolutely cack handed, like me. There is a shield arm you can hide behind, some dodge buffs and buffs to the rally mechanic that mean you can (so far) give it best endeavours rather than relying on it.
In NG+ or whatever, I think it would be necessary and you would have learned timings by then but I never fight anything for long enough to get their patterns down so just kind of wing it. Every enemy has at least one move that is a long wind up and a sudden stab that I just cant track.

I’m really enjoying this. I beat king of puppets at the weekend and have been making decent progress every time I snatch a few hours. I dunno what the difficulty was like pre-patch but it seems spot on now. From what I remember it was just a nerf to the first form's health, was taking longer than you would like getting to the second phase. Parrying is pretty tight, but the benefits on doing it are worth it. Negates all damage, inflicts stagger damage on the enemy and will put them them in a stagger state quicker and depending on the enemy can even break their weapon. Even if you block an attack, you still have grey health which you can regain if you go on the offensive, Bloodborne style. Feels like it was meant to be prioritised in this way from the get go judging by the pre release demo, but after feedback they've tuned it so the dodge is quite reliable and gets better if you choose to upgrade. I'm no parry master but rely on it when it's just finding the attacks you know you can deal with. I've got by with that, dodging and running away, so like any Souls game really.

The problem is, I cant do it reliably so I never do it in clutch situations. I can one/two shot cannon fodder and champion enemies dont appear that much, so I dont actually get that much practice unless I do it deliberately, which is killing myself.
My strategy is, basically, charge heavy, back up until they whiff an attack, charge heavy, back up until they whiff an attack, charge heavy, stun, grapple, repeat.
