I've enjoyed other souls-likes like Nioh, Ashen, Mortal Shell and Lords of the Fallen, so willing to give it a chance.

This is on my radar now. Didn't know anything about it. Looks pretty decent.

Yeah the search seems a bit hit and miss. This never would have happened on dominalien's forum.

Nobody tried the demo yet?

I'm surprised how long it is. I thought it would end at the title card some 90 mins in but it's still going. I like it, the Bloodborne inspiration is so apparent, right down to a woman wearing doll like clothes that you use to level up. It doesn't play as well as it, nor is it as creative but I enjoy it still, the latest trailer looks to have different environments too, so yeah I'm intrigued.

Did I hear right this was going to be a Game Pass game?

Definitely will be one I'll be checking out. Another wannabe Souls game it might be, but this looks like it might actually be a good one. Plus, it is obviously taking inspiration from Bloodborne and we all need more Bloodborne in our lives.

Got past him earlier, using the parry makes a huge difference. Rapier seemed to be the best weapon, offload lots of little hits at a time. Also run is more effective than dodge.

Completely forgot about parry even though there is a practice robot for it outside.

Downloaded the demo yesterday and then spent about 5 hours playing it till I finally managed to beat the last boss.

Overall impressions are good. The setting is interesting and the presentation is nice. The fighting mechanics are smooth and some of the larger enemies had me struggling for a while. The level design is pretty good as well, finding a short cut ladder or gate is always nice. I did, however, hate the roll mechanic. For some reason, if you are locked on you can’t dodge roll, just a dodge jump thing to get out of the way which doesn’t feel right to me. I like a nice dodge roll, which you can only do if you are not locked on.

The final demo boss took me quite a few attempts to beat. Don’t know why but it wasn’t until about my fifth attempt to beat him that I realised there was a regain mechanic if you blocked an attack. God knows how I missed that. Once I realised that, he was a lot easier as I didn’t waste all my health vials (estus) before his second phase (which is very reminiscent of a certain Bloodborne boss).

I enjoyed it overall so will probably get it at some point.

Didn't even realise there was a demo out. Downloading now, will give it a blast tonight.
