Apparently there was going to be a third DLC for the first Mass Effect other than Bring Down The Sky and Pinnacle Station, but Bioware ceased all work on it. A piece of soundtrack written for it by Sam Hulick called "Resynthesis" eventually made it into the Legendary Edition as the launcher music:
But there was an original, slightly different version released by Hulick a few years ago:

I hadn't realised how big of an impact this mod was going to make when I first installed it, but I don't think I could go back to the vanilla version now:

The Audio overhaul sounds really good, recently completed 1 and 2 and the sound effects sound quite naff
Shame what happened to EG, the site was good once but that recent ME article was utter shite. Their reporter was no doubt shaking with rage then drooling over the BG3 bear videos

Mod Showcase:
It's a nice, well written little addition, and they even snuck in a little Andromeda reference in one of them.
An even more impressive one, Immersive Normandy Transmissions, completely overhauls most of the messages received from people like Admiral Hackett so he appears in the comms room as a hologram rather than just a voice transmission at the Galaxy Map.
Ever wonder why the hell Jacobs' loyalty mission in ME2 had the stranded crew of a ship using modern weaponry when the ship crashed long before the advent of thermal clip ammo? This mod completely removes them from the mission, and also reverts all the crew weapon models to ones from ME1. It also modifies the mechs for a more stripped for parts appearance, in line with the mission lore.
The removal of the ammo makes it slightly more challenging, but nowhere near impossible. Best to use biotics and tech powers for the main part of the mission, and save ammo for the YMIR mech at the end.
Restores dialogue that was cut from Kasumi: Stealing Memory, where Donovan Hock was supposed to have had Neil Armstrongs' spacesuit on display in his vault, with an appropriate model that the mod author had to source because Bioware never got around to making one..

Just did the ME3 From ashes DLC in the remaster, (refused to buy it on the 360 as it was important part of the story cut out and sold back) One thing I noticed after playing 2 was Eden prime was just recycled bit of ME2 mission where you check the portacabin style rooms of the human colony where you fight the collectors

I know it was always quite obvious to anyone with even a vague sense of spatial awareness that the SR-1 would have to be a TARDIS when you compared the exterior dimensions with the interior, but the model of it in the docking bay at the Citadel is just taking the piss. It's about a third of the size it actually should be.
You can't normally see it because of the camera angles, but the ship is so scaled down that the airlock actually clips through the starboard side of the hull, and then you'd have the entire central corridor after that again, followed by the escape pod closest to the cockpit as seen in ME2.

Much as I love an open world, this is no bad thing. It can still *feel* open, and areas can still have a large scale, but it doesn't need to literally be fully contiguous. Not that Andromeda was anyways? Mass Effect was always good at hiding transitions, and with modern hardware you won't be stuck with the downsides like the four minute lift rides. Ideally each location would be like a self contained Star Trek episode, which is kinda what ME1 was. Let's see if they can do what Starfield couldn't, and maintain the illusion.

PhattsoYeah totally, the universe never felt constrained even with the hardware limitations at the time. Shows it can be done well.

Mass Effect always felt more linear and restrictive to me than other RPGs. The locations in Andromeda were larger, but I never thought it as a series was particularly strong at hiding its smaller scale. It just didn’t matter because the story and characters were strong.

I have loved many open world games, but honestly I'm a bit sick of them now. And even if I were still on board with the maps filled with icons, the level scaling, the RPG-lite progression systems, the radiant fetch questing, the live service stuff... even if I still liked engaging with all of that, I just don't have the time.
Give me shorter experiences with smaller, more dense areas, and more authored content. You don't need to let me explore an entire universe, because most of that is going to be boring. Suggest it! Let me imagine it!
Tl;dr I want my Mass Effects to tell me good stories. Making them open world dilutes that, so I'm happy if they are going back to the previous formula.

You could stumble across some interesting stuff in Andromeda but mostly I was just blasting across the landscape in my rocket car and not stopping at any of the bandit camps along the way.
At least they gave you the rocket car and a jetpack though, in Dragon Age Inquistion you had to do the same slog on foot.

I can't believe Mass Effect isn't available on Switch! Weird choice.

Even stranger was them releasing 3 on the Wii U but not the other 2 then being surprised it bombed.

I'd be very happy with a Mass Effect that had smaller, more designed areas rather than empty open worlds. I just hope they feel more dynamic and alive, rather than the same people fixedly going through the same animation routines in the same spots, while you bounce off invisible walls.
Even Andromeda suffered from this.

I wonder what, if any, hastily slapped together ten second audio clip over an animated piece of concept art they will reveal today. Happy N7 day.

Good thing the title and logo got a glow up pre release. That Epsilon Effect one wouldn't look out of place as a late 90's, straight to VHS movie starring Gary Sinise.
