Yep. I’ll probably just watch the “beach” scene ten times and then go to bed

Shamefully I had to Google that expression.

Sisu: Lapland gold miner vs nasty Nazis. Visceral gore, beautiful cinematography, predictable narrative beats and ends up going a bit bonkers. If you want to see a drowning man slit a soldier’s throat so he can breathe the air from his lungs, this is the film for you.

Talladega nights - 8/10
Another one I haven’t watched in while, so watched I it with my eldest. Still very good and funny. I didn’t remember it being so well filmed either. The track scenes are fantastic. Shake and bake and magic man are still classic lines and the whole excellent cast is seemingly having a great time.

Universal solider - 8.5/10
Watched it last night as part of my action movie athon. It’s great and aged well. Didn’t realise it was Joel Schumacher either. Van damme and Dolph are at the peak of their powers and it shows on screen. I’m not watching the sequels though.
Edit, I meant Roland Emmerich!

My main memory of the sequels is because Goldberg is in the first one and Megadeth did a song for the movie they had to play him to the ring with it in WCW and no one cared and the song was bad.
He is good in Santa’s Slay though.

Poor things 10/10 go and see it in the cinema now. Emma Stone is incredible and so is the hulk actor.
*Angry Mark Ruffalo noises*

The 2 monst recent sequels are great Yeah I’ve read up, the two latest ones follow on from the first one, are supposed to be very good and ignore all the crap ones completely so I may give them a go 👍

Paris, 13th District - 6/10
Very sexy French film about some tangled, interweaving love stories. Fine without being particularly emotive.
The End We Start From - 7.5/10
A very British apocalypse film where the UK is doused in extremely torrential rain which causes London and much of the country to be submerged. Jodie Comer treks across the UK with newborn baby in tow. Cinematically, quite strong 28 Days Later vibes, just with a lot more motherhood subtext.

New page so I'll say it again. Go see poor things 10/10. . Saw it last week and agree this should be reiterated. It's really original and really funny throughout.

Why can't user's state what formats the film they're reviewing is on? Prime, Netflix etc, really pisses me off.

I watched a film the other night, gave it a bit of a review on here, wrote some blurb but oh no sorry, my attention span ended after I turned it off, I was unable to say on what format I'd seen it it was just too much effort. Would have taken me 10 seconds.

All reviews must now state what screen you watched it on, eg “living room”, “spare bedroom after a row” or “iPad while having a big shit”

To be fair we did go through a phase in either this one or the tv ratings thread of putting which channel or streaming service we were watching on.

I don't think it's a bad idea if you remember/can be arsed but def not worth getting upset about imo.

The Creator 8/10
The story was ok but it looked really good throughout and was enjoyable enough. It felt a bit like what I thought Blomkamp would end up making eventually after I saw District 9 years ago.
