The Phil Spectre Christmas album is awesome simply because it makes you feel like you’re in Goodfellas.

Ok now let’s argue about whether Nightmare before Christmas is a Halloween film or a Christmas film.

The Phil Spectre Christmas album is awesome simply because it makes you feel like you’re in Goodfellas. He was a fucking freak but that guy knew how to write a bop. That Darlene Love tune is the starting gun for Christmas (and what makes Gremlins an Xmas movie, for me).

Yeah that’s my favourite also, also largely because of Gremlins.

I don’t think a Christmas film needs to be about Christmas.
The original Indiana Jones movies and Star Wars trilogy all have a Christmas holiday vibe or association for me. ET as well. Indy in particular.
Then there’s general holiday classics like Zulu, Great Escape, some Carry Ons, Guns of Navarone, Where Eagles Dare, Spartacus etc who’ve all made appearances over Christmas again.

Titane
WTF did I just watch. That was nuts. I think it was good. Maybe. I don’t think I liked it though. Euch.
If you’re really into weird body horror stuff you’ll probably love it but I found this an immensely tough watch. It is very original though.
I don’t really now how to score it.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Felt more like an Uncharted movie than the Uncharted movie did. Waller-bridge brings some Chloe-esque energy to the proceedings while Indy tries not to avoid breaking a hip. Was mostly good fun but way longer than it needed to be and somehow managed to have a climax even more ridiculous than the Crystal Skull.

Leave the World Behind
I enjoyed this, it ratchets up the tension bit by bit despite nothing significant really happening. In the end it doesn't really amount to much though.

‘beans not touching your fry up This has always been an issue AFAIA. It's about your food swimming in bean juice, especially important if there's runny egg yolk to be enjoyed. And beans are absolutely integral to a fry-up. And an important factor in Die Hard is that he is technically trying to get his broken family back together.

I saw it a year or so ago and I'm still not sure if I enjoyed it, or what rating I'd give It... It certainly sticks with you afterwards, and isn't for the faint-hearted.

I feel like most horror probably appeals to parts of us we’d rather not admit to, but every now and then I see something and it does make me worry a little about who exactly enjoys that sort of thing. This did feel like it went a bit beyond the dark side that’s in all of us and strayed into actual deviant territory.

I remember watching The Devil’s Rejects and thinking “am I supposed to be relating to these cunts?” By the end I’m pretty sure I was. Fucking Rob Zombie.

Samaritan
Some Amazon film starring Stallone as a former superhero vigilante. As a kid befriends and learns of his true identity, and a gangster takes on the mantle of his previous foe and things happen.
It's utterly boilerplate writing, pretty predictable, and there's a sense that everything has been seen before. But competent enough to not be offensively bad
