Natural Born Killers (Leaving Prime) A first time watch and I'd wrongly assumed this was one of Tarintinos though it maybe shares some of his quirks. I don't normally mind a bit of visual flair but I found the film disorientating as it constantly switched from colour to monochrome and everything seemingly needing to be shot at one weird angle or another that my brain was struggling. The acting is fine with Woody Harrelson, Juliette Lewis and Robert Downey Jr. being the main cast though things begin to lag into the second act when Tommy Lee Jones turns up. The glamorisation of killers by the media message is also fairly obvious and it has a great soundtrack as well that has Leonard Cohen mixing with Nine Inch Nails and RATM. I think it's a film that relies on its visuals to carry it so I thought it was merely OK and not one I'd rush to watch again. 5/10 Had the soundtrack to that on CD and it was indeed excellent.

Tarantino wrote the original script and then Oliver Stone changed a lot. Tarantino hates the film and I left the cinema thinking it was fucking awful too. I read the original screenplay and I vaguely remember it being better but still not great.

Tarantino wrote the original screeenplay and tried to get it made with himself directing, but failed so sold the script. It ended up in Stone's hands who then (with others) re-wrote it but kept a lot of the dialogue.

There are bits of NBK that I like, but yeah, on the whole I agree. Not top tier at all.

I love Natural Born Killers. It's very on the nose, not subtle at all, an assault on your senses. It's like a distorted collage of american culture. Love it.

They still sell giant NBK posters at the student union start of year poster sales.
Gen Z act all cool and like they look down on us online but then its NBK, Pulp Fiction, Bob Marley and Take Me To Your Dealer on their halls of residence walls just like every other student in the last 25 years

B&B Merry, a close second to Catering Christmas so far. 6/10 I will recommend to the wife as she liked Catering Christmas. For me, they all look the same; some man/woman who hasn't been home in ages has an asshole bf/gf returns home and reconnects with an old flame.

Kids today love Tupac and Pulp Fiction. Just like in 1995.
The ones that like K Pop are at least doing something new.

That was replaced by Trainspotting and Reservoir Dogs.

I bought a Jim Morrison poster but then was too skint for anything else so just stuck random pages of old NMEs up to cover this shit wallpaper in the run down house we were renting. Looked like a fucking womble lived in my room.

The Killer
Lowkey and mundane which it was going for, Fassbender does well and 1 really good fight scene that stands out.
7/10

Beastie Boys (Check Your Head), some blueprints of Star Wars ships and vehicles (can't remember what book they came out of), and rave flyers I was devastated when I realised I'd outgrown my Check Your Head t shirt. Great album. I ignore Paul's Boutique and Licensed to Ill, these days.

Just before I moved out I had Primal Scream Give Out But Don't Give Up, the big Confederate flag. Looking back it wasn't such a good choice....

I was a big ‘gig poster stolen off the SU wall’ kind of guy. A lot of monochrome designs printed on red, blue, green or orange A3 paper from what I remember.

Lola Rennt (Run Lola Run) and Akira.
Still have an Akira poster on my office wall, albeit an alternative version and framed.
