It was Pizza Hut in the rest of Europe but as there was, I think, a single Taco Bell in the UK at the time of release they didn't bother changing it here.

I think the only Taco Bell I've seen was in Barnsley, of all places

There's a lot more about now, at least in the South East, when one opens up in my neighbouring town there'll be 4 within 30 minutes of me.
Still never bought anything from them, too many horror stories from the US.

Killers of the Flower Moon
More like, Killers of the Bladder for holding your wee in for too long, am I right? Killers of your ass-cheek bones!
But seriously, the length was fine. I wasn't checking my watch, I was riveted by the whole thing, really. Great dialogue, great performances, it's Scorsese at his storytelling best.
The only slight negative for me was the court scenes at the end. There wasn't really anything wrong with them, but I don't think they added much to the movie. They felt unnecessary.
Also, I wasn't 100% convinced by the relationship between Ernest and Molly. Specifically, wtf an intelligent, savvy person like Molly saw in this guy, and why she continued to trust him when he was so very obviously a bad egg. Obviously it is a fact that she did trust him, because that's history! But I didn't fully believe it in the movie.
Anyway, those are small niggles. This is still very much worth a watch, 8.5/10

The version I saw was definitely Taco Bell. Weird.

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)
What a wonderful film. Would make a good companion to There Will be Blood or maybe The Revenant. It’s similar as a very human exploration of the corrupting power of riches and the three core characters are really enjoyable to watch, Bogey in particular.
It looks gorgeous and rattles along at a real pace. Superb stuff.
9/10

Against the ice - 8/10
It has Jamie Lannister and the brother out of peaky blinders in it. True story of danish explorers and survival in the artic/Greenland in early 20th century. I love stuff like this and it’s very good.
Also polar bears are terrifying

On Her Maj's Secret ServiceMaking use of Prime. Been such a long time since I watched this through and I know it's had a retrospective loving. But I'm not convinced. Yes, it's more "serious" but this really should have been Connery's swansong. The editing and pacing also doesn't help it. I forgot how badly the ending is handled. 5/10 I kind of agree with this. The received logic is ‘bad bond, good bond movie’ but it’s just so boring. It’s pretty much the only Bond movie I won’t linger on if I catch it while flicking around.

Came out about the same time as The Terror and that Colin Firth one and I thought those were great too. Very good mini-wave of bleak Polar survival drama.

I love the ending of OHMSS though. I think it's beautifully handled and puts the rest of the series and Bond into context.

Cracking score too. Although I mainly remember it due to the propellerheads reworking.

It takes too long to get to the main plot, with the love story essentially "my daughter is Diana Rigg and she needs a man to dominate her. Have a million quid if she marries you"
"No, not for a million quid. Maybe for an introduction to Blofeld"

I love the ending of OHMSS though. I think it's beautifully handled and puts the rest of the series and Bond into context. Definitely. I do feel that OHMSS does get a lot of unwarranted praise, in a sort of smug "well, actually, that one everyone says is rubbish is secretly the best one" way. There is a lot wrong with it and it is tonally all over the place. The ending is not one of the problems with it though.

The main reason some people love OHMSS is because it’s exceptionally close to the source material. That’s always given it status for a certain type.
I haven’t seen it in a while but I remember it being incredibly stylistic, with insanely edited action sequences that for the time must have been really out there. Because of that and it general being very different structurally and tonally to all the others (plus of course a single serving Bond) it just feels like a curio. A but like the OG Casino Royale.

The Old Oak.
Racism is bad/10. Some very good performances. Not exactly subtle though. Loach gonna Loach.

I do have a soft spot for OHMSS. The score is stunning. The stunts are great (any Bond with skiing gets bonus points for me). I've been to the set locations multiple times on holidays and it's lovely to see familiar places. It's also got a different pace which by modern standards might make it slow, but it gives the film time to breath. And the ending is great.
But it does stand out. It's not as humorous (later slapstick) as the Moore films that followed, and not quite the same as the Connery ones either. I think Lazenby plays it very well and brings his own kind of charm to the role, but with no other films in the series he doesn't have much of a chance to establish his version of Bond.

Yeah im pretty much this, read all the books as a teenager and OHMSS and FRWL were the two closest films so I loved them. I’ve also got a soft spot for Lazenby and think he got a bad rap.

Escape Room
Someone in a studio thought "hey nobody made a Saw for a few years and what if we made one that's a 12?"
Watchable and instantly forgettable.

Rob Zombie's Halloween - 5/10
Plus:
It tries to be different to the original. The middle part with the kills is decent.
Minus:
The beginning and ending are awful. Malcolm McDowell trying and failing to sound like Donald Pleasance's Dr Loomis is hilarious. Screaming and standing in the same spot is not going to help against a knife wielding maniac.

Naked Lunch - 8/10 maybe?!
It's fucking weird, which is to be expected really. Cronenberg noir sci-fi semi-autobiography perhaps? Some amazing visuals including typewriter-cockroaches, a half-centipede-half-shagging-arse and a talking arsehole. There's lots of drugs as the story meanders and lingers. One to watch and take what you want from it.
