I find the Jinjer vocalists cleans a bit dull tbh, like good but a bit uncharacteristic. But she's got a pretty good harsh vocal though.
One of my old housemates was into Jinjer a lot so I heard quite a bit, but never really got into them.

Speaking of fierce women, I’ve not listened to them since probably 2008 or something but this new Rolo Tomassi hits hard

I've been liking Spiritbox lately. Courtney can shift from melodic to guttural screaming pretty easy, Holy Roller just happens to be their heaviest but my favourite remains Blessed Be.

How has this not been posted yett The ending is something elseEnding is absolutely brutal but I didn't really gel to the rest of the song. Kinda similar to Slaughter to Prevail, the breakdowns are the big takeaways from the songs but not much else. That's a fair point, I don't necessarily disagree though it is quite epic sounding. Slaughter to Prevail is a pretty good comparison The guy's one take vocal video is insane though, I'd argue he's the best vocalist in the game right now (and came out of no where to replace someone who most people thought was irreplaceable). And the tickets to their tour in January are only £13, what a bargain!

Speaking of female vocalists, I think the new Aephanemer is out this week for any melodeath fans.

Happy new Converge album release day. This time they’ve gone goth.

New Khemmis and Obscura album releases today too. Both very different and very great.

Happy new Converge album release day. This time they’ve gone goth. Only just realised it's a collaboration with Chelsea Wolfe. That's made me far more likely to give it a listen. I used to quite like Converge but I rarely find myself in the mood to listen to something as aggressively noisy these days.

Same its a very welcome change of pace. Brodsky adds some more light and shade too.

I've found for the most part with the last couple of Khemmis albums that they're good but I'd generally prefer to be listening to Absolution or Hunted which are proper classics.
They're still one of my favourite current bands and their cover of Rainbow in the Dark is incredible fun.
On a different note, very sad to hear of Hank Von Hell's passing. Some of the Turbonegro albums he was on were just the best nihilistic punk rock ever.

Someone recommended me to the latest Every Time I Die album and wow, that album rules. Feels like non stop aggression from beginning to end. What a way to open your album.

Basically all ETID albums are awesome.
My favourite metalcore band by a mile. Helps that they're not generic as fuck (and the extent to which other bands sound like them is more that they originated the style).
We take the piss out of the floor punching crew but damned if these guys don't make me want to bury my fist in the concrete.
Also love the way Keith Buckley manages to scream with clear diction, those lyrics are too good to hide!

I'd almost forgotten how good Judas Priest's Screaming for Vengeance was. It's one of their best, and they have some amazing albums.

It's been a while since I've listened to anything really new in the scene, but I'm loving Vended at the moment - for those who might not know who the family connection is, I think you could probably guess

A project with Howard Jones and Metal youtuber Jared Dines came out recently. It is as KSE sounding metalcore as you would expect and as good as I think each individual song is it kinda blends in the middle of the album with how similar it sounds. Im still a sucker for this kind of music and Howard is one of the best at delivering amazing melodies and screams, the man has still got it for someone over 50. The singles are the clear stand outs to me.

Howard never really got the respect he deserved considering he’s pretty much been the best out there at doing this kind of vocal

I don't know how well Benea Reach are known, but it fits well enough I suppose. Progressive Sludge/Metalcore according to Encyclopedia Metallum:
TesseracT fits into a similar niche.

Been listening to that Converge / Chelsea Wolfe - Bloodmoon album.
It's odd. even though The Chelsea Wolfe side of things is what made me interested in the project, I do wish there was a bit more Converge fury. The later half of the album, tonally, could pretty much just be a Chelsea Wolfe project. Wish it ignited a bit more. That fragment of D-beat at the start of Viscera of Men just makes me wish there was a little bit more of that, and a bit less of the Cave In guy.
