I was a bit disparaging of Sigh in a recent post, but I've been revisiting some of their stuff as I really liked the last single, and actually they're pretty fucking amazing.
I still prefer their more recent stuff I think, but it fucking slaps.

Thoughts on the new Megadeth single?
I thought about half of their last album was excellent. The new single is okay but sounds like one of the weaker tracks off that album. Still I definitely don't complain when I get more Megadeth.
Conquer or die is still one of my favourite tracks ever.

New Municipal Waste album is pretty decent, after a first couple of listens.
I mean, it's Municipal Waste. If you didn't like them before you won't like this. If you did like them before, I'm not sure why you wouldn't like this.
Might not be there best album, but it does show a very small amount of playing around with dynamics, songs might change pace more then usual.
Good fun thrash.
edit: as an update, now that I'm back home and able to listen to the album loud and through actually decent headphones, it's actually very good production, good mix.

Plus it seemed really blatantly xenophobic. Which kinda aligns with his born-again christian nonsense.

There was some hubbub about "United Abominations" a while back and Mustaine's defense was something like "Why? I'm just a dumb guitar player". Can't find the quote anymore, so add salt.

New single from Revocation, in anticipation of their new album out in Sept. And it rules.

Anyone been listening much to the new Conjurer? So far It's good but not as good as Mire (Retch is a modern classic). Might just be that it takes a while to worm its way in though.

Have been listening to some old Godflesh, so I had to think of Jesu:

I still like Amon Amarth quite a bit. This new track seems very good, a lot of their recent singles have been obviously aimed at crowds and festivals, with big choruses and stuff, which is fine and very enjoyable, but this one is a bit moodier and mid-paced, more like their (best) mid-period output.

I have a feeling this is going to be a car crash. Also I have some kind of irrational dislike of Zakk Wylde. He just seems like a knob.

drhickman1983 Only listened to it once, but seemed like a call back to With Odin on Our Side era. That is a good thing.

From the recent iron maiden gig in Greece, Bruce doesn't appreciate the flare ...

Lol
"You fucking cocksucker. You Greek cunt!"
Speaking of cunts, thanks to Phil Anselmo for confirming what I've suspected for 25 years, Pantera are a bunch of racist bigots. Good riffs though.

Didn't realise the video above my post is a few years old but yeah, those Southern Boys aren't exactly progressive. To be fair their love of the confederate flag should have given the game away but I wasn't really clued up at the mid 90s peak of Pantera fandom

Oh, I didn't realise we have a metal thread. I've been making a little effort to find Swedish stuff with Swedish lyrics lately and... there's not much to find.
Skraeckoedlan (The Terror Lizard) - I'm not much usually into doom/stoner stuff but I like these guys.
Knogjärn (Knuckle Duster) - I'd have loved these guys when I was a young'un. These days I mostly find this sort of thing cute.
To be fair they are adorable:
"The first time I saw you, you stood moping behind a bus, with your beige hair and your yellow teeth, your pale swollen lips, you'd thrown up on your thigh, you had sick in your hair,
you had sick in your hair
I love you! So fucking much! I love you! So fucking much!
Our first date we went to tractor pulling in Väse i asked what does mother and father do when they're not here father cures haemorrhoids with high voltage mother blows up balloons at the tivoli
mother blows up balloons at the tivoli
I love you! So fucking much!
How the fuck are you out there, all of you who have to assert status all the time? That life's so great, you work, still have time to exercise, cook,
spend time with the kids, and clean the whole house, at the same time as you're sitting with a glass of whine,
reading a book, and doing carpentry on the porch
Even though you really just want to listen to 1G3B,
and eat kalops with mum and the old man, god damn! And all the boasting about your perfect partner that you can't get enough of, and all the junk and pictures that are so fucking nice, fuck I'm tired of it. Nobody cares about your fucking-
Coochy-coochy coo! Coochy-coo! Coochy-coochy-coo!
I love you! So fucking much!"

Some good Swedish in Swedish, although you probably know most of these, and it's debatable if the punk stuff fits this thread: Totalt Jävla Mörker (hardcore punk) Dia Psalma (rock/punk) Gravkväde (black metal) Gösta Berlings Saga (synth/prog) Lastkaj 14 (punk)

To be fair their love of the confederate flag should have given the game away but I wasn't really clued up at the mid 90s peak of Pantera fandom I never did get to see Pantera but I’ve seen Down and plenty of video and its pretty undeniable what an incredible frontman Phil is on his day but yeah, I buried my head in the sand when I was younger about some attitudes that were long rumoured. I suppose the Confederate flag and being pals with Ted Nugent were probably up there as signs something might be amiss.

Phil Anselmo is a cunt so I thought I'd look into the other guys from Down and see if they're OK.
They're... not.

I'd be hard pushed to pick a single favourite Priest track, maybe 'Run Of The Mill'. Love the laid back middle section that feels more like a jam followed by the emotional build up at the end. It feels meant, rather than contrived if you know what I mean. And man, that voice.

I really like the live version of Diamonds and Rust on the Rising in the East DVD.
Not sure I could pick a single Judas Priest song. Favourite album might be Screaming for Vengeance.
