School is closed tomorrow, as is the office, so everyone will be working from home.
Severe gale mini-lockdown! Just like olden times.

Right in the red zone here and our daughters primary is open tomorrow. We were just told to take care on the way in...

On the coast in the red here, just strapped my bike cover on and threw a spare breeze block on the shed roof.

I’m meant to be flying from Southampton to Glasgow tomorrow morning, on what I assume is a pretty small plane. Fingers crossed it’s at least a little calmer by tomorrow or that’s not going to be enjoyable.

Should be fine tomorrow, only a yellow warning in place!
A colleague is/was due to fly to Naples this morning. Don't fancy her chances!

It's pretty breezy out there but not too bad at the moment. 10-3 is when the red warning is in place for.

Just really bloody wet here on the Humber estuary. Not nearly as windy as it was a couple of nights ago but I'm sure it'll get worse as the day goes on.

When does the nice weather start again? We moved back in September and haven't been into the garden once other than to mow the lawn because the weather has been so shit.

It's easy forget that the weather is absolutely shite for pretty much half of the year. Roll on spring though, can't wait for the first "t shirt day", such a great feeling going outside and actually feeling warmed by the sun.

Yeah, we've barely set foot in our garden since October. It's bloody lovely having one when it gets warmer, though. Our last house had a shitty small patio and we were in flats before then, so last summer was the first time in about 15 years I'd been able to just chill in my own garden reading a book. Well worth it for the half a year you actually get to enjoy it.

This time last year, the weather was good enough for me to get the barbecue out, and look like a right weirdo buying charcoal from the petrol station in February!

Yea Stroud is a bit windy even on the side of hill but nothing too bad at the moment. Was worrying seeing on the news last night a report with Stroud council workers dishing out leaflets door to door to those poor sods on the flood plain near the Severn.

That's cool. I wonder if there are any other cameras dotted around the SouthWest doing that.

Moral: don't build or buy houses on a flood plain. It's called a flood plain for a reason.

I've been meaning to try finishing steaks off outside when reverse searing, as the whole house stinks for the next day when you sear them in a screaming hot pan... Might have to brave it next time!

Thanks for this, very interesting. Sharon in the comments seems very keen on mentioning that she often swims naked in these waters. Presumably not this morning though.
