I went into the loft after dinner tonight only to find one of the 2 panes of glass out the little roof light was nowhere to be seen.
Spent a frantic 30 minutes getting it boarded up before having to run out for football 😡

Neighbour's gate has decided to find a new home.
The bedroom window (broken because landlord) gets ripped open every hour at best
Idiots at the end of the road have an insurance problem; they used those metal fences stuck into big rubber boots that you see around construction sites. Then they covered it all in a tarpaulin. About an hour ago it behaved liked the kite that it is and 2 cars got wrecked

Covered in tarpaulin? Fucking hell.

You need to move. As soon as I saw my neighbours putting up rubber ring metal fences I'd be "fuck this".
Then move or stab them all.

Hope they don't fly off somewhere and kill someone Indeed. My repair has stood firm through the night! Just looks a little chavvy having a bin bag stick out the roof. And I think the glass is in one piece at the eaves stuck in the gutter.

We're due to drive four hours up from Devon to Surrey tomorrow...am really not looking forward to that. I'm in two minds as in is it reckless to still go, or totally over-cautious to cancel a trip to avoid some wind?

I'm almost certain the gate/fence down the end of the garden is going to blow over. I did tie some rope from the fence post to the garage door which might hold.. lol

No damage here, but we seem to be in the eye right now. Lovely, mild, calm, sunny weather right now.
Apparently it's going to be rough later on and tomorrow, though.

Seems we're in the lull between Dudley and Eunice. The latter one is going to wreck the south it says. 😲

Eunice has been upgraded to red status in some places and it's Amber in Greater London now. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60417263Not leaving the house tomorrow then...unless the house leaves us :/

Bristol is pretty much on the cusp of the red zone. So might not go into the office tomorrow after all.

Yesterday was pretty bad here (Cheshire). Today, “nothing heard at this end”, as we say in amateur radio.
A little breezy, perhaps, but that’s it.

The north of Devon is the "Red Zone" and the entire route is in Amber.

Now that the status has turned to red we're going to change plans and leave much later in the evening once the winds die down - can't leave tonight otherwise we would have. Bloody winds.

Yeah, I've just posted in the other thread but we've changed the time of our drive to Swansea (from South Yorkshire) to Saturday morning instead of tomorrow afternoon/night.

To get to work I drive down a road where trees fall in a mild gust. Not looking forward to tomorrow.
