Yeah...is that a thing? I'm fairly sure that would not be possible. How would you isolate one card over the other? Probably far easier to just nab your wallet, no? It’s a vanishingly small issue because it is low return. Like you say, risk/reward, you’re better off trying to just take the wallet.

I did almost go for one of the neat little secrid card holders, but have been using an alexander mcqueen leather card holder for years.
Bit of everyday couture for my poncing about needs.
And who doesn't like a skull on their card holder!

Having said all that, it's only the barbers who insist on cash, so most of the time the card holder stays at home and Google pay does the work. No transaction limit on it either.

I've used cash exactly once in the last 3 years or more (a dodgy taxi that insisted on being paid in cash).
I was stood next to someone at a bar recently who insisted on paying in cash. Completely threw the tlbar staff.
I just assume anyone who wants or uses cash these days is a tax dodger.

I've got one of the little leather card holders, but like others, I rarely carry it these days. I used to take it to the supermarket for the Nectar card to use scan and shop, but even that's on my phone now.

Now that we’re getting ID in digital form too I find I’m not bothering with my wallet most of the time. Slowly but surely they’re becoming obsolete.

It doesn't stick out of your pocket, it sinks straight to the bottom. Motherfucker would have to stick his hand far enough in to touch my knees to get it out.

Now that we’re getting ID in digital form too I find I’m not bothering with my wallet most of the time. Slowly but surely they’re becoming obsolete. I feel a bit sad like it's the end of an era. Ever since the age of 16-17 I've had Animal brand wallets. It's a funny story I don't know if I've shared before. When I was 16-17 me and a mate were wondering around town in between college lessons. We went into an outdoor shop that had really expensive camping gear, and they had a stand with Animal wallets. We both really wanted one but we couldn't afford them. So one lunchtime we went and nicked one each (this was back in the day before we knew right from wrong). I know that's a bit naughty, but if Roger Animal is reading this every single wallet I've owned since then has been an Animal wallet, bought and paid for by me (I'm now 44), and I tell people not to buy me wallets for birthdays and Christmas's. Every time my Animal wallet started getting frayed and tatty, I would always replace it with another Animal wallet. I've got a box with them all in somewhere. The first one from when I was 16 still stinks of hash and has a blim burn in the id holder. My current one is a big brown leather one with black and white chequered lining. Fuck, I didn't check whether Animal do one of these card wallet things, I just assumed they didn't...

My wallet is a super simple zippy job that's probably also the most useful wallet I've ever owned.
I keep earbuds, a couple of cards and my vaccination thing in it, as well as a few quarters for parking and my keys hang off the string bit. Super handy.

As a few will remember from the old place, I’m really very into the whole tools/gear/stuff-we-carry theme. Like, big style into it.
I’m a member of a couple of the more well-known forums on this very subject, but, honestly, they all seem to have gone rather quiet!
So, more wallet recommendations, please.
I would like something to replace my current one, which is the Bellroy Notesleeve, if I’ve remembered it correctly.
Over the decades I’ve had no-name leather, no-name nylon, a Jeep nylon, a Jimi, two Bellroys, and a Maxpedition…I’m going to say…Spartan…which I really wish I hadn’t given away to the charity shop.
It would be used for about 13 cards, plus a few of my business cards and UK banknotes.
Must be hardwearing!
I’m tempted by another Maxpedition…

Like when they put the same shower gel in a bottle for men and women but write 'Eau De Facepunch' on the mens one?

Just bought a new Leatherman, my old one has lasted super well, but it's starting to show it's age and it gets used a lot. Went for the top of the range Charge + TTI. Swanky. Nice! I've still got my Leatherman Fuse I bought around 15 years ago and it's still going strong, amazing piece of kit.

I have a Belroy Hide and Seek. It's excellent. I kind of need a proper wallet, even though for the most part all I need is one or two cards.

I try and try and try to wear my Leathermans and Victorinoxes on my belt, but doing so always seems to result in nasty backache.
So I tend to resort to putting the tool in my pocket, but still in the belt pouch in order to prevent damaging the pocket lining.

I have a couple of these little fellas I always keep in a pocket. About 8mm deep and weighs about 15g so it doesn’t pull your trousers down.

EMarkM then I'd highly recommend not getting one of these. It's a big old unit. That said, it's impressively tough and got about twice as many tools as my old, well used and loved Sidekick, so I'm happy with it. I'm used to carrying everything I need in copious pockets and strapped to my belt, tbh, so it's not that much different. I've got all sorts of things that are belt mounted. I go out to the forest or wilds in winter with things like a torch, keychain, water bottles, multi-tool, poop bags and treats for dogface... you just need a good, strong webbing belt. My phone lives in my pocket, though.

Yep, I’m guilty of overdoing it a bit with what I carry sometimes, choosing from several dozen Victorinoxes, dozens of other knives, a fair selection of Leathermans, plenty of torches, keyring tools, the lot. It’s just weird how even the slightest thing on my belt throws my back out. Bongo’s photo looks like a Classic SD - check out the Rambler when you have time for extended functionality in roughly the same package.

You need a Bergen, mate. Although that probably drifts outside of the Every Day Carry of the thread...
