Probably the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever bought is my Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri in San Mai 3 steel. They don’t seem to sell them anymore but here’s some random bloke reviewing it. It’s very silly but could have your arm off youtu.be/P0pZbt09ddgWhat do you do with it?

Nothing really. I keep it next to the bed (by the breadbin lid) in case I need to chop a burglar in half.

My mate has got one of these. He sent away for it from a company in tibet or something. I have a nepalese one as well, which gets used a lot in the garden. It's made out of the suspension leaf spring from a truck. Cheap and functional

Having now moved into the powerful world of owning knives, I too am looking at getting other knives.
Also, you would have loved that blacksmith day, pete. You should look into doing one.

I don't get it, what's the point?
Not when nunchuku are so readily available.

Same as owning a gun, I suppose. You stand in front of a mirror, waving it about with a semi-on.

I'd definitely recommend getting some training nunchucks off Amazon, I use mine every day.
Or I hit myself in the balls twice within the first 30 minutes, had a brief nunchuku fight with my son before getting them taken off me by my wife.

I did have training nunchuks when I used to do jujitsu back in the stone age and I was ok with them. Lost them in a house move. I say 'lost' they were definitely thrown out.

But yeah there really is no point to it, truth be told. It's just a nice, high quality object to go with my other nice, high quality objects

Yeah again I get it, I was just making a nunchucks joke. I'd have a samurai sword if the scummers hadn't ruined them.

My mates dad was into like paganism and all that arthurian shit and he had an excalibur on his wall. Not sure how faithful a replica it was but it looked cool. You should get one of those.

I'd be leaving the front door open in the hope that someone tried to break in.

Just bought a new Leatherman, my old one has lasted super well, but it's starting to show it's age and it gets used a lot.
Went for the top of the range Charge + TTI. Swanky.

I always have a couple of leatherman Micras lying around so I can have one in my pocket. Generally for cutting clothes labels off and my fingernails. The odd children's toy battery compartment.

What's the point of the RFID blocking?

What's the point of the RFID blocking? Doesn't it stop people walking up with a scanner thing and "swiping" your credit cards in your wallet?

Hate it when that happens. It's almost a daily occurrence for me.

Yeah...is that a thing? I'm fairly sure that would not be possible. How would you isolate one card over the other?
Probably far easier to just nab your wallet, no?

Hate it when that happens. It's almost a daily occurrence for me. I've never been pickpocketed either, but it's nice to know that now I'm no longer vulnerable to a particular form of crime. Anyway, the RFID shit is just a side benefit, the main benefit is the compact size and the gadgetry look of this thing. I can't stop looking at it, it's so cool. And it changes the way you think about what you carry around with you in your wallet. Loose coins can go in your pocket anyway. But empty your bifold wallet, do you really need a this shit? The shit that you kinda need such as vouchers, you can put in the money clip. Vouchers and shit that you don't need to carry around with you every day can go in a bedside drawer, you literally don't need to carry half the stuff around with you everywhere. It's a really clever idea and a complete game changer. I'm going to recommend these things to anyone who will listen, real talk. I want a really expensive designer one now, because they're so baller.

Where do I attach the lanyard, or wallet chain?
Yes I'm stuck in the 90's.

I'm totally with usesr unrealkilla on the little need to carry stuff around with you - I have a leather card sleave which holds 3 cards and notes. But those metal things look uncomfy, don't you want a little bit of give so that it moulds to your pocket rather than sticking out?
Also, NFC theft is a) an urban myth, b) a minor inconvenience as you'd get all your money back from the card companies.

Tbh I do have a leather sleeve thing, but on the few times I've used I always feel worried that I've left it behind or lost it. I actually like having a bit of a presence in my pocket (and having it the attached lanyard clipped to my belt hoop) as it's weirdly reassuring.

But those metal things look uncomfy, don't you want a little bit of give so that it moulds to your pocket rather than sticking out? That would be a problem if it was the size of a phone or a wallet, but this thing is TINY. It's the same dimensions as a credit card, just a little deeper depending on how many cards are in it. It slips to the bottom of a regular trouser pocket designed for wallets and phones and nestles in ok. You could even carry it in the breast pocket of a shirt, or the inside lapel pocket of a jacket.
