About halfway through Prodigy S2 and I'm enjoying it, much more of a defined story arc than the first.
Would really have liked a full episode on Temporal Mechanics 101 but maybe that's just me.
I certainly didn't expect a legacy character that turns up but it makes sense they would.

Turning Wesley Crusher into Doctor Who is certainly a choice. Also, I'm pretty sure he referenced something that made the entirety of the now-defunct book universe canon. The Travellers leaving because of the Temporal Wars, and things that feed on dying timelines doesn't half sound like what happened during the events of Star Trek: Coda.

Lovely animation style, gorgeous in places in fact. Damn, kids are lucky these days, some great shows of similar standards around, especially in Si Fi

Prodigy Season 2 is some of the best Star Trek we've ever had.
It's nuts that CBS were going to can this!
Also maybe I'm a little passed it but it seems a little mature for kids. Not in the violence or sex style but in terms of concepts and dealing with threats.

Yeah, that is nuts for sure, I am not exactly plugged in to the Zeitgeist these days Maybe Netflix will rescue it, I live in hope. Everyone watch it, FONT GEEK COLLECTIVE ASSEMBLE!! (42 extra views)

I’ve not seen season 2 yet but in season 1 I thought the idea of a TOS cargo cult was a particular highlight

Yeah that was great. I even found it funnier than any Lower Decks tbh

Finished season 2 and it really, really is good. An "ending" to Voyager in a lot of ways, like Picard S3 was for TNG, but actually better.
I hope its successful enough on Netflix for them to commission more as there's a lot of scope in how the season ends but if it doesn't we'll just have to be happy that we got a conclusion for the arc.

I’m pleased that for all it is a kids show they’ve mostly managed to avoid anyone using a space skateboard to do a kickflip while escaping the Borg, which was what it marketing all looked like pre-launch

I still find it quite funny that Prodigy is very clearly Star Trek's "Clone Wars" so much so that they even gave Dee Bradley Baker, voice of the clones, a role in the show, the very talkative Murf...
He does additional voices as well at least!

Ahahaha though I do admire the commitment to making the USS Enterprise (I assume the WW2 Yorktown one) look like the USS Enterprise-D. Everything else about it is cringe.

I hope you've all finished prodigy on netflix. Needs as many views as possible to continue!
It's easily up there with Strange New Worlds as the best new star trek. It's most definitely the best new star trek set after Voyager.
Shit's on all Picard from a great height, yes even season 3.

Season 5 of Lower Decks in October.
I have no words. My words are gone.
"Federation outsiders serving a gleaming resort planet find out their day-to-day exploits are being broadcast to the entire quadrant."
FUCKING HELL:
"Notaro will be a series regular with Wiseman and Fehr as guest stars.
The bigger surprise is that Robert Picardo will be reprising his Star Trek: Voyager (and Prodigy) role as The Doctor. He too will be a series regular for Starfleet Academy."

God Section 31 looks bad, I mean I generally hate everything Section 31, but that looks extremely bad even by that bar.

Enjoyed the SNW clip, obviously going to be one of the more silly episodes of the season, nice to see Scotty has joined the cast, the Section 31 trailer is a disaster (the likes/dislikes ratio on YouTube is 1:4) and fuck knows who it is aimed at.
The Lower Decks teaser is perfect, ending that show is a bloody stupid decision (as was cancelling Prodigy but hopefully that may have a Netflix future).

Didn't watch all of the SNW clip, but it was certainly taken from one of the silly episodes. Which is fine. Those weren't too bad. Hopefully they will have a good balance though, as I thought having a Lower Decks crossover and a musical episode in one seasons was a bit much last time around.
Section 31 does indeed look awful, which isn't that much of a surprise. Judging by the logo, they seem to think they are going to do some kind of Suicide Squad style fun romp with the bad guys, which is certainly a choice...

SNW seems to have nailed the silly and serious episode mix.
As for cancelling lower decks I don't think it's cancelled more like you can't keep showing a show about lower decks when the main characters aren't lower decks anymore.

Another TAS reference in the Lower Decks season 5 trailer. The blue Orions are making an apperance.

Best star trek news I've heard in ages:
The Orville’ is Returning for Season 4, Production Begins January 2025
I don't see it mentioned a lot on this forum but once it hit its stride, it was actually really good and like what ST use to be

Amazing news. Big Orville fan here and agree once it got rolling it was the closest thing to more Star Trek being produced for tv.
There are episodes in there that I still can’t believe were written and directed by the Family Guy guy.
Section 31 on the other hand, looks like all the worst parts of modern Star Trek rolled up into an Aldi Suicide Squad.

I saw the first episode The Orville and didn't like it, thought it was just family guy in space that wants to be star trek and didn't watch it anymore
But saw the final s1 ep of "Mad Idolatry" and got me watching the show from then on. Apparently Seth had to trick fox (network at the time) on the tone of the show as they wanted family guy in space
