GRX 400 is fine, got that on my Ribble, I prefer it to Ultegra in some ways.

Nah, she's ok with it. I have got rid of two others and this is replacing an ageing mountain bike, so i think I am in the clear.

Popped into my mates bike shop this morning, they’ve got one of those Colnago C68 in for some work. Looks like complete garbage, a real faff to do any sort of work on. A 15 grand bike that we weighed at 8kg, My 8 year old C60 was 6.8kg on the same scale, mental how cycling has gone so backwards while prices keep rising

They were dropping out the fork to trim the steerer and the bottom bearing has started eating into the crown. You get a tool kit hidden under the stem cap though, which makes up for the engineering flaw

In the latest BikeRadar review marketing shill for that new Vitus all road thingy, they try and pass off 8kg for a 5 grand bike as 'quite light these days'. Just, no.

I’ve got an 8kg Aeroad and a 7kg old Cervelo and, given the total weight of me and either of them, the difference is nothing… yet I can definitely feel it, everything’s more snappy underneath you.
Noticeably poor value out there now- Tiaga seems to have become the new 105. And all the integrated stuff, I’m never getting a bike with that on because I don’t want the extra hassle when servicing/tweaking etc. But it’s probably inevitable eventually unless I can find the money for a custom frame.

New gravel bike apparently on it's way. Should hopefully have it in time for the weekend. Now to hope all this rain bogs off by then! Still no sign of this. Bike's been in Glasgow for three days according to the tracker. Dx delivery are a big pile of shit. |

Any of you folks ever experienced hand numbness? If so, how long did it take to fade and get better? At first I thought it was some sort of RSI, but it came on in both hands after I had been increasing my cycling volume.

Could be due to a few reasons. Certain gloves can cause numbness but most often down to fit on the bike. Try moving your saddle backwards a bit to reduce to weight on your wrists, you’ll have to lower it a touch as well when going backwards

Still not got my bike, although it has moved further north and is only about 20 miles away.
Hoped it would be sent on Saturday. Nae luck, so two weeks of work get disrupted by this shite delivery firm.
Hopefully tomorrow, although I had important stuff scheduled with our current student, but it can wait another day if need be. This is really messing stuff up and i need to get stuff sorted asaft because things are booked with another dept and can't easily be moved.
Bah.

Well, it's here and built. Just having a cup of tea before a quick test flight.
Arrived at work before getting notification it was being delivered, so basically got into work for 20min before having to jet out again and hope i didn't miss the courier on the journey home.
So 20miles to work and back for fuck all.
A total delivery shambles from start to finish.

Ah well, 30odd km of a mix of roads & teeth rattling trails today, and nothing fell to bits, so looks like I have put it together ok and everything is tight enough.
Got to say, it's very liberating. Just pick up and go where you like. Currently on flat pedals too, which feels odd having been so used to clipless on the road, but it's also nice not to have to think about clipping out before stopping all the time!

I didn't realise it was the UCI world championships next week. Frustratingly I arrive in Edinburgh for a weeks holiday the day after the mens road race but it looks like I might be able to do either the Short Track Mountain bike finals on Thursday or the Mens Road Time Trial in Stirling on the Friday. Ideal.
