A huge chunk of that volume will escape from the sides before the bead seats, I wouldn’t worry about it too much

Sweet!
I don't know why I'm so excited to get them. Not like they're going to transform me into a quicker rider but they look good and looking good = faster, right?

The better you look, the slower you can afford to go

I've not seen user Psychotext for a while… yoohoo. I see our mutual is embarking on some epic-looking Canadian Rockies traverse.

I’ve got a separate chamber thing, tend to pump it up to 120psi and then flick the lever- it never seems to have more than about 40psi in the inflated tyre after, els is spot,on. Perhaps don’t go right up to 160psi as it’s hookless rims you’re using- see if you can get away with starting at 100psi.

I hope that's how it works! Cause I'll be progressing, hopefully, from glacially slow to a snails pace!
Genuinely though, did anyone actually notice a difference when going to deeper section wheels? I know the science says it should be faster, but was it noticeable?

They do, how noticeable it is depends on how deep they are. When someone broke my back wheel on my master I put some 50mm rims on which made me look even more of a cunt but it was effortless compared to the 13mm box section 32 spoke jobs

Ah I've nothing to fear looking like a cunt since I am one already!
Regardless if they make me quicker it's still my fat arse on the saddle!

They also help you go the same speed for less effort, plus they look cool imo, try putting some old school mavic open pros on a modern bike, it looks awful. 50 isn't that deep these days, I don't think anyone would even notice, maybe if you rock up for an easy club run with 80mm ones you might get a few funny looks though.

I know the science says it should be faster, but was it noticeable? My 45 mm carbon wheels (Zipps) are noticably faster than my aluminium 27 mm ones (Hunts). By around 1 mph on average on the same (flat) roads with same ouput. More importantly, they look so much better.

I tried to get from Bristol to Bath in 30 minutes today. Did it 31:08 in the end. The track was quite busy so I had to slow down a few times for people and some workmen but I think it's within touching distance. Maybe the new wheels will give me the few extra seconds I need

Love the fact he went back and measured, estimating 4ft space was left, and presented that to the court despite the law stating 5ft is the minimum

Is there any safe way of keeping an ebike in the street permanently? Two locks? Three locks? Does a security camera help deter thieves?
I live in a top floor flat. My ebike was stolen a year ago. I got a replacement from the insurance of course but I've been keeping it in the flat, and to be honest I can rarely be bothered carrying it down. I don't have a rear garden and the front is open to the street.
It's a rented flat so I can't install anything in the yard, unfortunately, and the landlord denied my request of having a bike hanger in the hallway citing bogus fire hazard concerns.

Not really, unless you can get the council to install one of those secure bike cave things in a parking space

Yeah, sadly there's like 0% chance of that happening in Belfast.

Check the hangar is still straight and the inner and outer limits are correct. Despite supposedly “good” GRX and Ultegra mechs I still need to fiddle about four times a year to get things back to reasonable.

I’ve started threadlocking the shit out of the limit screws as I swear they must be slowly revolving over bumps.
