Destiny is the best worst game Ive ever played. Everything about it is absolutely shite except the shooting. Although, tbh, the last expansion didn't really even have that going for it. Everything about it was, at best, boring. Indeed they really pack so much bullshit at the front end where it feels like they actively don't want you to play if you're new to the game. |

Maybe come up with a coherent plan before putting a game into production would be a good idea?
Can't blame Warner Bros for this sort of bad project planning.
Yeah I laughed at the bit where Hill wanted to put vehicles into the game. It really highlighted that disconnect that occurs in almost every hierarchical organisation where the person at the top this idea that they think is amazing but has absolutely no thought of how it will get done, if it even works in the sphere of what is being done and the people at the bottom have to figure it out. Time gets wasted and in the end it gets scrapped and in the end all you get is "from the visionary mind of Hideo Kojima". Fuck the small people doing all the legwork. |

Explains the random side missions that have you using a vehicle. Isn't that just an element from Overwatch? I don't think it's inherently to do with the vehicle nonsense. It comes across more as we needed another mission that could be repeated again and again but we can't think of any. I guess we have this unused vehicle model that we could use? |

I love the vehicle, reminds me of the flying stuff in Saints Row the Third except you can only use it sometimes because apparently you can have too much fun.
I've barely played this since I finished the season pass. I still love the moment to moment gunplay which is still super enjoyable, but I don't like the seasons basically rendering the stuff you earned in the previous seasons near useless.

I really want to like the new content for this game, given how much I stand by the core game actually being decent, but man it's hard. Every update so far has been a -1 to the score I'd give it as all they do is add more frustrating stuff.
For example, in the current season they added Green Lantern enemies where you have to destroy their constructs first to damage them. There is a delay of about 10-15 second before the constructs spawn, mean they get that much time to be completely invincible. In a game designed to be fast paced, it really kills how combat is paced.
Every season has a shifting meta too, which renders most of your existing endgame gear sets almost useless every season. I understand it maybe being weaker but rendering it so weak means why would I play the current season? That stuff will be good for a month or so, then that's it. I want build variety, not everyone racing to basically have the same set as everyone else. There is some variety but not as much as there would be if they stopped neutering sets as they go.
One thing I do really like is you can swap season at any time, so I can play the bits I actually enjoyed with fun weapons. I'll still have a quick look at new season and Mrs. Freeze but if they keep sucking out the fun I'll just swap back.

I hate it when games do that. I think it was Outriders who religiously nerfed the most powerful/fun weapon and skill every patch, making the whole thing less enjoyable every week like clockwork until everyone just stopped playing.

Most of the free games you get from Prime are pretty rubbish, but occasionally you get something worth while. A big name like Suicide Squad is quite unusual, as generally mostly indie stuff.

Love that the Shader Precomp stage has no progress indicator so you just have to stare at a stuttery stupid animation. Not a good start
EDIT: I played for a short while until the end of King Shark intro. Feels nice and snappy and smooth to play but the keyboard controls feel like ass. Will need to swap them up next time

Played a good two hours. Very pretty, very cinematic, enjoying the story and the cutscenes. Gameplay is absolutely awful and boring. Will complete to see the story and cutscenes.

As much as I love it, there is just so much that's baffling about the whole game.
The game is TERRIBLE at explaining itself, especially at first. It'll teach you basic controls, but not their place in the general flow of combat. I get why people wouldn't play past a couple of hours because who has time for that when they've got other great stuff to play? Especially when the game makes no effort to endear itself to new players. As much as I love it and I'll stand by the core game being a massive amount of fun (eventually), it does it's hardest to make you hate it. It's almost impressive just how much it makes you despise it for the first few hours.
It needed a better first few hours. It needed to not be an Arkhamverse game. It needed not to be a live service. It needs an overhaul of the loot system as there is minimal build variety. When I, one of 3 fans left, am not even bothered about the upcoming DLC because I know it'll just make the game marginally worse, why would anyone else?

I should've guessed it'd be an ice skateboard.
