Made a clan if anyone cares to join. [FGC] Fontgeek Chair Cleaners. No idea if that's enough for people to get in or if I need to manually add people. If the latter ping me your username in PM.
That's the thing the X hardly ever appears my character just ends up getting killed.
Get a few levels under your belt and come back if you can. The last penguin mission was doing that for me, when I came back later with slightly better gear I aced it.
Been trying to level up King Shark. I have a kind of shield harvest melee build which is fucking epilepsy inducing after flying around with Deadshot but seeing those big bastards get gutted for 2.2m damage is quite the dopamine hit.
I'm enjoying the catch em all weapon grind which means climbing the leaderboards which is also starting to grab my attention. Speaking of which there are 89k people on the leaderboard which means those people have completed the game and are competing which is not great, not terrible. I actually have no idea. Fun game though!
It's not looking great from a Steam point of view, no more than 5000 concurrent players in recent days. Hard to imagine them going through with 6+ seasons when there's so few people playing it.
Yeah its looking bleak on steam. There are over 120k people on the in game global leaderboard though, and someone was saying that only about 16% have hit the achievement to get on the leaderboard.
It's all finger in the air stuff though. I really hope it succeeds, I went in with no expectations apart from it being made by Rocksteady and it's a 9/10 looter, one of the best I've ever played. It's exceptionally well designed loot game with a silly DC comicbook storyline backed up by all the Arkham lorebuilding that I'm quite into.
Silver linings! Another one is I'm really quite high on the single player leaderboard. You may touch my hair and I'll send jpegs of my ankles on request.
Curious if things will pick up once they actually launch the seasons and/or fix PC performance, as it’s still janky with broken dlss (or at least mine still either does nothing or makes everything a smeary mess). Most of the seasonal roadmap has been leaked and there’s some interesting stuff on there, but it’s a big question mark if it’ll make it to the later seasons the way things are.
It's pretty much dead looking at it's steam numbers. The pc market is never the biggest on a game like this but if you look at something like Helldivers in comparison it's a fair indicator.

Yeah that's a fair point, it's a pure AA game that people really have flocked to. I still think many people just aren't happy that Rocksteady are in the GaaS space regardless of it's quality. At this point I can only see something like it being on Gamepass or PS Plus resulting in an uptick in numbers but I can't see many sticking around once they've done the campaign. I do hope there's no knock on effect to Rocksteady in the process.

It wouldn't be a bad move for them to get it on them fairly sharpish or look at getting it to a f2p model. WB are incapable of doing that without horrific price gouging that won't make them any money though.
Season 1 will make or break it for sure, a demo would do wonders
I really like the idea of a couple of hours of a big silly justice league comic book story being released every couple of months along with more stuff to do. The leaked stuff does look really promising.
Oh there was this as well. Every assumption about the story that has had youtube algorithm chasers shitting their pants in apoplectic rage about has been proven wrong. Even that Lex Luthor Wonderwoman biography that had the go woke go broke crowd gargling each others cum over has been torn down and it fits the character who wrote it pretty perfectly. (I'm far too invested in this)
Yeah, it’s impressive how deep the lore goes and how many clues there are that things aren’t quite right. But then the internet crowd think it’s the opposite, that things not being quite as they seem are actually just Rockstar not knowing the deep cuts
eg King Shark being able to just wear the Green Lantern ring rather than it choosing him, a clear indication that this is not GL and not a proper ring, but everyone reacted like “omg they got GL wrong”
It's not like the higher ups at WB weren't given a huge warning from the reaction the game got from its 20 minutes showing on a PlayStation State of Play a year ago.
The way its going, I'm one of the privileged few to have enjoyed one of Kevin Conroys last performances as Batman as we pumped him full of drugs, beat the shit out of him, stuffed his broken body into a pokeball and shot him right in the face on a park bench. I genuinely had a fucking blast with it. 9/10 not even joking.

they just did the Principal skinner out of touch meme
It's honest to goodness one of the best shooters I've ever played, very close to a personal 10/10 - IF it was just a normal, one and done game more like Hogwarts Legacy. I'd have had a great 50 hours with it and played it now and again, like I do with Crackdown or Returnal. I still play it daily for now just messing about because the core gameplay is so much fun.
It just doesn't make a good case for being a live service game. All that means is the story doesn't really wrap up. I'm not even fussy about new content, outside of fixing bugs and a few combat tweaks. Cosmetics don't really interest me and to me that's an issue - if you can't get someone like me who loves the game and was happy paying for the deluxe edition to give you more money, what chances do you have?
This does have the combat > loot > tweak build > combat loop down almost perfectly and I've never played a videogame character like boomers moveset. Its just missing the variation or a goal other than leaderboards. All that has to come with time after making the platform stable which is now looking short.
The potential is crazy for fans of dc and the genre. I know most people don't want it but I think the opening game, with the quality of its cinematics, is an incredible start for a huge justice league comicbook story, they are doing 3 month seasons with an 'episode' every six weeks basically like a comic book run/tv show, if they can keep up the quality it will be class.
The reason it can work is Rocksteady are pretty much world leading at injecting the narrative into he game world via environmental detail, incidental conversations, hidden clues, codex entries, etc. I've lost count of the hours I've spent looking at this shit.
It's all easy stuff to miss in a casual review which might be one of its commercial failings, its a niche game up against mammoth expectations. They overestimated the Venn diagram of DC fans and Looter Shooter fans.
I learned about the DCs Danny the Steet through this. The below is perfection, this is peak comicbook and why I love them.
There's a building in the game, a gun shop with pink curtains...
"Danny is a living and sentient piece of urban geography who can magically and seamlessly place himself in any urban landscape at will without any disruption to his surroundings. He can freely interact with any other sapient being through various forms of visual printing within his proximity".
"Danny lets the people tossed out by society have a place to rest. He entertains them with drag shows and various shops. Danny cross-dresses and enjoys expressing himself by putting pink, frilly awnings or curtains on gun stores and the like."
As long as they add the promised offline mode, I'll be happy. That way it'll never really die, unlike games that actually do. Man, I miss Defiance. It was sooo good and there's still nothing like it as far as 50+ player co-op PvE goes.
I know no-one cares, but Season 1 is out. Honestly the game play is more of the same, you can be Joker if you grind the Season 2 "Fear" level up to 35 or buy him (pay for that sense and pride and accomplishment) and it has a season pass now with a bunch of cosmetics. They also tweaked a few things and mostly fixed multiplayer.
It's still the same game though, if you didn't like it you still won't. I did like it and still do. Snipers can still go directly to jail though, they still stun you for about 4 times longer than necessary, and the nerfs to them (they teleport less and take damage when they do) haven't blunted them at all.
I saw Luke stephens' video on the joker and someone in his stream gifted him the $10 as the grind to unlock joker was miserable experience, the game even stopped spawning the missions to get the joker.
It's not trash... but it's barely new. Mostly reskinned stuff, and abilities that make some of your old weapons and abilities significantly less effective.
Unlocking Joker isn't all that bad (nothing like the Cloud grind on Chocobo GP) but it's longer than it should be. You could do it in just over an hour but I've just been playing the game for fun so I reckon it'll take me nearer 5.
One issue I've seen is it's really poorly explained in-game how you even unlock Joker, as the Fear level grind is totally different to the Finite Crisis one but everyone kept trying to level it up the old way.
It's insane that you even have put in time to unlock the character let alone that they are aware of this and have put an option where you can pay to unlock the character which is incredibly cynical but it is WB.
I was hoping for a proper story led DLC with new missions etc but apparently there is absolutely no story once you unlock him, just a cutscene of "here he is" and...that's it.
Sadly I'm out, just haven't got the time or will to grind a character with no real meaningful benefit.
