Cutting through a lemon and seeing the tiny puff of lemon juice vapour as you do so, then having a sniff (of the lemon), sublime.

CATS. CATS ARE NICE.
Specifically their fluffy little paws, and their twitchy wee noses, and when they do that stretchy back thing, and when they deign to sit on your lap, and specifically not when you tread in cat sick or the partially butchered remains of a mouse.

There's a sweet older cat (I think her owner said 14) a few doors down from us. Whenever we go out or come back I always check if she's there for a quick pet. She's just so affectionate it always makes my day.
Then I get home to our two cats who couldn't give a shit about me until dinner time.

Picture that freezing winter in your first rented flat/student house, that had bloody storage heating, or an electric fire in the living room, and fuck all else, but you managed to get an oil radiator.
Get up early for work, freeze half to death setting the thing up, put your underwear and t-shirt on it. Take a shower, freeze again towelling off afterwards but then, THEN, the glorious warmth

Order. Like when I unpack my shopping and the cans are all in the right place and facing forward, before other people mess it up.

A really nice cup of tea.
Early autumn mornings out in the forest with the hound.

I suspect they were 2 different things. I concur on the flask thing though.

They were two separate things, although I could definitely start taking a good flask of tea out on our longer hikes. I'd got out of the habit of drinking tea in the mornings. In the last ten years or so, I've tended to always have coffee, but recently I've been cutting down and so I've gone back to tea and I realised just how much I love it of a morning, too. Now I need to get a good flask.

Just make sure you get one that'll fit a standard frankfurter.

Ooh I can see a travel mug/flask with a ceramic lining rather than steel is the key to a good tea on the go. I do need a new travel mug, I've been using a Costa one for about 5 years and it's really quite disgusting inside now and pretty bashed up having fallen off the car roof at least twice. I wonder how a ceramic one would cope with that?

A really good shower. Not many things more relaxing in life.
Bath weirdos freak me out.

A really long, loud fart when you wake up in the morning. I'm not even joking.

I feel like I might be missing a joke, here. Also, baths are amazing. One of the worst things about moving house was leaving our bath behind. I loved that bath. The one we have now is sufficient, but it's on my list to replace it with a massive stone resin one.

It is only big enough for one large cup though

Cutting through a banana, skin on, with a serrated knife.
Prior storage in flask optional.
