I tried to play the DR xbox one port last year and its so bad trying to fight the psychopaths as one hit tends to send you flying (mostly from guns) eg the shits in the jeep in the courtyard or the one in the gunshop.
I really hope Dead rising 4 never gets a remaster as its such a designed by committee game (and the promo team were such toxic arseholes for the game) actually met the infamous Joe Nickolls at Vancouver airport business lounge, totally smug prick in real life as in his DR4 videos) I see despite his new crappy studio closing and never putting out a game, he got a promoted to VP!

I really want to play Mercenaries 2 again. It’s one of the best ever games IMO and it’s a crime it’s not even backwards compatible.

So many fond memories of that game. I have it on pc cd somewhere still. Don't have a drive though so downloaded a cracked copy then never played it

You can play the original on Xbox even now. That was staggeringly ahead of its time for the original Xbox (don’t know how the PS2 version was).

I really enjoyed the Mercenaries games, probably prefer the first as the war felt a lot more like it was happening than the sequel. RIP Pandemic.
Just Cause is about the closest we get these days to a similar vibe.

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter remaster, with added Boba
It's from Aspyr though, so... meh.

Was that game particularly good? I never really heard anything about it being great, and just ignored it as one of the many meh prequel-era games.
I guess they've remastered almost everything else at this point.

The way things are going we may need a needless remakes and remasters thread.

I'm not sure what they could do to make Star Wars Bounty Hunter more interesting or appealing. Ewok extermination missions?
I guess Aspyr have already done all the games of that period and this is the bottom of the barrel under the last bottom of the barrel, under the previous bottom of the barrel. Licences are a funny old business, we get all these mediocre games instead of the Rogue Squadron and Rogue Leader games that people might actually be interested in.

Okay, I recalled there was a copy of Star Wars Bounty Hunter still in my videogame 'trash pile' basically games that were used for spare boxes etc. back in the day. Let's see if I was depriving myself by not playing it for all these years.
PS2 version of Star Wars Bounty Hunter, connected to a modern display via SCART so there's going to be some weird stuff going on with post processing and upscaling that won't be in the remaster. Even so, it's a very plain, empty looking game, lots of empty rooms and corridors typical of games from the late 90's to the mid 2000's. At least Shadowman used a lot of baked in shadows versus Bounty Hunter which is very evenly lit and consequently unusually drab and visually uninteresting.
The protagonist should be renamed Janko Fett, the camera feels weird and rotates the view every time you move Janko even slightly to the left or right. Default controls are also incredibly twitchy, Janko feels too fast and 'weightless'. Maybe you can adjust and get used to them eventually.
Basically you've got the action adventure formula that games like Uncharted polished up in an earlier, jankier form, you get some shooting, light platforming, switch puzzles etc. I don't think a remaster can really redeem this without turning it into an entirely different game.
The only plus point is the classic Star Wars music and text crawl when you start up.

Just Cause is about the closest we get these days to a similar vibe. I flirted with Just Cause and it is half decent but only half IMO. Controls always felt massively too loose for everything.

Forgot about all that shit Thankfully us Euros had SCART for RGB goodness but even then it was quite an upgrade when I first got an HD Ready TV and could see a lot of detail in games that was just too fuzzy otherwise.

Think I got myself a HD tv around the time of the games release so didn't have to put up with it for long.
Lazy.

I remember using a monitor for my Xbox when I got it. It wasn't until I got a free PS3 with my phone contract that I actually bought a big HDTV. I was using first a monitor then a 17 inch TV.

Yeah, 360 offering VGA at release was a great hack to get quick access to HD gaming without needing to stump for a HDTV. Think everyone in my circle of friends went the 22" Monitor route at first.

The BG&E remaster seems great. Except for the framerate on Switch apparently. Not that I ever notice such things.

I've been so close to buying it over the past week but I've held off, as I'm in two minds about getting the Limited Run...

Deluxe edition comes with a bunch of outfits from various Capcom games as well as the 2006 Frank West model and Chuck Green.

I'm confused as to why the game is advertised as 40 quid for the base edition but on the ps store they've listed it as 45 quid.

That does look like they’ve actually thought about the areas the original game was awkward/dated. Always wanted to like the original series but couldn’t get past some of the quirks. Will keep an eye on this one.

I imagine they'll fix it but may need a poke so I have on Twitter.
