I had a quick go and yeah it looks pretty good. The sound quality stood out as being a bit shit but other than that it's looking good.

I'd maybe temper your expectations on this, it's still very much a tarted up 10 year old game. The city does look pretty nice though. But HDR is pretty broken and the sound is awful.

Just Cause 3 performance on the base PS4 was awful at times but it works well on the PS5. Just cause 4 looked rough or at least it did on the old xbox one. Can't imagine it looked any better on the PS4/5. |

If I remember correctly, Xbox One X hit 4K so Series X would be that without frame drops. I'm not sure the PS4 Pro version hit 4K though.

I've been surprised at how nice it looks, but HDR is proper fucked. It's a known issue and it seems that the brightness slider is broken. Apparently if you set it to 100, go back to game, then go back and reset to default THEN increase it to whatever it fixes it. I have tried and it does seem to brighten it up. I would say if people are hankering for a GTA3 style game that this is pretty close. The soundtrack is surprisingly good too, it has Return of the Mack ffs. Spent way too long in the character creation and I think I made my character too sexy, especially when wearing yoga pants. Might have to reroll as a fat old duffer in yoga pants instead. edit: talking about Saints Row The Third Remastered btw. |

I looked at a couple of videos of SR3 and decided not to bother. Just looks like a manic shooter trying too hard to be WACKY COOL. I'm too old.

It is basically that yeah. It's funnier than I thought it would be, it's quite well written. Doesn't look to be much variety though, and the driving feels like ass.

I bought one of the SRs when it was new thinking I'd get a GTA fix and yeah honestly I was put off by the wackiness. It seemed a bit try-hard but I mostly put it down to the surprise at it being not what I expected.
It's in my pile of shame

My favorite thing about Saint's Row is stealing cars by dive-kicking the driver through the windshield.
Other than that, I've nver played much of it.

I enjoyed SR3 (twice) the set pieces in missions are great. It does insist upon itself but it is good fun. And the car modding is actually worthwhile, unlike GTA.

I think the only one I've played is 2, but I seem to remember enjoying it. I feel like I can probably extract £12 worth of enjoyment out of the remaster of 3. My TV doesn't do 4k or HDR so I suspect that won't be an issue. |

SR2 is peak Saints Row for me, it was silly but not getting really stupid which the series got to by the end of the original run.
I enjoyed the latter games but loved SR2.
