Chinatown Wars was a lot of fun. One of my favourite DS games.

Sometimes wonder if I'm the sole Skyrim player that has only purchased it once I have purchased it no times. I've seen a bit though and one thing that really bothered me was during the opening scene where someone is being executed, one of the NPCs really clearly slides into place
That's literally the first thing anyone who plays the game sees and it's just like that
The worst thing about Skyrim’s introduction is that it takes forever and is unskippable.

Hmm... I was hoping the physical releases were lagging far enough behind to benefit from any patches, unfortunately they're due 07.12.21 which would mean that the discs have already been pressed and you've got the prospect of nice day one patches to look forward to.

That's if they patch anything. It's obviously been through testing and I can't believe it's just the internet finding quirks, and not glaringly shit versions just getting released regardless.
Going to grab SA off GP just cause I can, but it looks shameful. The (short) promo video looked very promising, but get the impression this has had so little love from R*

Is this Rockstars fault or Take Two?

I am aware (or rather, I didn't actually check, just thought it was apt)

Is this Rockstars fault or Take Two? Fair question, but you would think they have the power to say when it's done (this doesn't even look half done). It's not like Rockstar don't regularly delay things themselves.

At this point I think we all know that Rockstar are powerful enough to command certain things. My feeling is that they felt this would tide people over who wanted some 'new' GTA.

Rockstar operate almost entirely independently under the Take Two umbrella.

You know who does great PS2 remasters, and they'd have crushed this trilogy port? Bluepoint.

Rockstar operate almost entirely independently under the Take Two umbrella. How much freedom are they allotted?

It was dev'd by Grove Street Games. I'd assumed it was internal. Would still expect them to sign-off the final versions though, being as it's their legacy. From GSG website "With a history spanning over a decade, Grove Street Games has grown to be a leader in the industry by taking smart risks" - what was the smart risk here?

Releasing the game in this state and hoping people wouldn't notice.

They've got form have GSG (as mentioned earlier). That just makes it all worse. What a wasted opportunity.

It's almost as if they've taken the known-terrible remaster and just made it a bit shinier and updated the controls. I still kinda want to play SA again but I can await its inevitable reduction in price. Total arse

I’m guessing PJ did the graphics and Duncan had the audio

I've found (on Series X) disabling HDR and Dolbyvision make San Andreas at as least visible for most of the time, but this is still an absolute pile of shit, and no better really than the 360 version. Worse infact, given the missing music.

Finding quite a few button presses didn't seem to register when biking, lifting weights etc.
Fidelity mode was a lurching mess and fuck knows what was going on with the lighting.
Did Rockstar leave the QA to some feeble machine learning bot too?
Game Pass wins again and I've 20-odd GBs of space again on the drive.

It runs great on my phone. How is a slightly polished version taxing more advanced hardware?

They really should have gone the whole hog and remastered it from the ground up on RAGE
