I can't see them doing Space Hulk when they're pushing the Boarding Actions 40k mode, there's just too much overlap. Why not Primaris Terminators? They need a rescale just like all the other first born stuff. They'll have new helmet designs though and that isn't one. They've not actually done a boxed game release in a bit now. Warhammer Quest Cursed City was the last one. They'll probably slip some new genestealer sculpts in there then do 10th later.

Maybe boarding actions won't make it to 10th, so Space Hulk will let you use your expensive BA terrain in another format

I've been wrong in the past I'll be wrong again, James Workshop makes some inexplicable decisions and I'd actually prefer Space Hulk, I'd be more likely to actually play it. But I really don't see how it ties into the schedule, it's alright saying 10th Ed. later, but how does that tally with the Arks of Omen books? They've built narrative momentum just for it to be a nothing burger, then launch SH, then build up to a new edition again.

Yeah, it feels more like Arks of Omen are building to a 10th Ed than a new boxed game. Iโd also love a new SH but I lean more towards this being 10e. Plus the teaser art is clearly a โnid rather than a genestealer.

Concur, all the rumours have been DA vs 'nids, Lion + new Deathwing for 10Ed starter. Whether they team up with Tau has been bothering the community more tbh.

It's also definitely not a deathwing terminator. Helmet and body would both need to be bone white.
Anyhow they constantly release single boxed games like Warhammer Quest entirely separate from the timelines for 40K/AoS. They're unrelated.

As we're getting new true scale terminators and a Tyranid refresh (including Genestealers, presumably) for 10th in June, I wouldn't be at all surprised if GW decided to chuck a few in a box with some cardboard tiles at some point. It's a guaranteed seller. Launch in November and watch them fly off the shelves.
Especially if they scale it to work with the boarding actions walls, they'd shift a tonne of plastic.
I have both the first and third editions of Space Hulk already and I'd buy a new edition in a heartbeat.

There's also a persistent rumour that Epic 40k is relaunching later this year, going up in scale from the original 6mm to 8mm to match the the rescaled Adeptus Titanicus/Aeronautica Imperialis. I'd be all over that, as Epic was definitely my game back in the early nineties (though that was probably more down to the fact that I played Eldar and they were borderline broken).

Man if they brought back Epic 40k/Armageddon that'd be the dream, though my concern would be it'd still be Horus Heresy like AT is. As also an Eldar player so AT just hasn't been that interesting.
GW's production processes must be way more advanced these days considering they're clearly planning on supporting 2 full main games, Old World (which would seem to share some minis with AoS) and Horus Heresy. While supporting all those smaller form ones at the same time. Like their processes must be some how easier to dynamically switch around what they're making for given demand at a point, so a greater range of stuff can be available at a given time.

I stopped painting a while ago but Epic would be hard to resist - Heresy or 40K era, though of course 40K would be better for the variety of armies eventually available. I had an Eldar army but sold it to a guy in Canada aboot 10 years ago, still have tons of Guard Marines Orks from Armageddon era. It 's very strange when you paint 6mm or similar for a long time, when you next return to painting 28mmm they seem freaking huge, even a termagant is some vast bio horror, seems to make painting them easier for a while. If Epic does turn out to be rumour only, Vanguard Miniatures do a vast range of 6mm metal not-Epic-atall, which are so satisfying to paint it is almost criminal. vanguardminiatures.co.uk/They do 3mm too. Those tanks are very, very small indeed. 6mm is my preferred scale to play with, for the EPIC size of the armies you can field, but I think just to gawp at, 15mm is king - you get huge armies of dozens of men and vehicles, but much more detail than 6mm or 8mm too, enough to see individual character at least. Particularly good for WW2 / older historical stuff.

Re: Cyanide's Blood Bowl 3. Wasn't the main complaint about their BB1 the UI and the AI, and the main complaint about BB2 was the same, plus microtransactions, and now BB3 is basically their 3rd attempt at making the exact same game and it seems to have gotten worse on all three (plus bugs). ??
If i have BB1 and BB2 goes on sale dirt cheap, is it worth grabbing it? Did they ever fix the AI or did anyone mod it? Did it ever include a decent bunch of teams/players, or do you have to buy them all separately.
I'd also love new Space Hulk (with some rules tweaks) and Epic... though I expect the prices would give me pause... Space Hulk seems the one that'd be easiest to bring the kids onboard with.

General consensus, I think, is that the single player (i.e. campaign) and AI is at its best in BB1. BB2 had a little less single player stuff, but added some things over time and its AI is not considered great, but you can still have fun with it. BB3 has what seems like a pretty meagre single player set of tournament campaigns, and shocking AI. You can grab the legendary edition of BB2 (or whatever its called) pretty cheap on sale; it should come with all the team dlcs so you'd have the complete set. I dont think any improvements have been made to the AI over time, but it's er... functional? At the very least, players attempt to score TDs. I'm still playing 2, but I play it in a weird way - using friendly matches to play with a friend and then extract the stats using a custom tool so we can manage a complete bunch of teams properly together. So I dont really touch the in-game MP and the single player very little. But i'd say its worth picking up on the cheap if you want to play some Blood Bowl. Only downside is if you want the 2020 ruleset.

I want the original ruleset BB1's singleplayer is ok, but it seemed pretty limited in that there are almost no star players so there's not much scope to develop your team (iirc... it was a while ago)

40k Gladius (pc game) is free on Epic this week. It's a 4x game that seems pretty decent, if a bit nickel and dime with the dlc.

I have both the first and third editions of Space Hulk already and I'd buy a new edition in a heartbeat. Well, you might be in luck. New YT teaser has the tagline: So that pretty much assures it is indeed Space Hulk. Ed:and now I'm seeing comments that it's still a termagaunt in the reflection, which has been unavailable for some time, and that another article points to a land based battle associated with it, and people are thinking it's a new sculpt Tyranid 'gaunt killteam/boarding party, with some ol' Indomitus sprues thrown in with the current hot terrain. Who knows anymore ?

This would've had the same effect for me. At least I was a teenager when the Vyper appeared, and fond memories of my Biel-tan trio at the time.

Caved at my local store and finally grabbed Angry Ron to add to the pile of unbuilt unpainted figures. Figured I should start Adepticon off right.

Theyโre streamlining the rules. Which is something they claim every edition, until codexes and campaign books make it all horribly obfuscated. Free rules and data sheets is interesting though.

Same situation as the indexes at start of 8th thenโฆ.give it a year and as you say, all will be horribly over complicated.

I don't really get how they can simplify the rules anymore than they have. Though the strategems nonsense, sure.

Simple. Everything hits on a 4+, everything saves on a 4+. Nothing else. I was around from 2nd-3rd, with all the special fancy codex-specific rules were all swept aside, and everything had basic, barebones lists in the BBB, so everyone could start straight away. Then the codex creep as always, then MTG-like encyclopedic knowledge required for a friendly 500pt skirmish. It's always been like this, which is one of the reasons I just don't bother with the game side of it any more. I just wouldn't know where to start, nor do I want to.

God the move to third was depressing. Everything just moves 6" now. Bleh. I mean there's no need to actually go back to how complex 2nd was now as nobody plays games with 30 models. But still it's not even like shooting a tank up the arse has any advantage anymore.

Random topic in amongst the new shinies excitement in which I am no way impatient for pre orders to open.
How do people store their armies? I previous just had them scattered in various boxes, but Iโve recently discovered Battlefoam, and now have half a dozen pack bags on the way.

I've got a mixture of KR and Feldher that I randomly pick up at Salute every year basically: www.krcases.com/about-krwww.feldherr.net/My brother swears by plastic boxes, a layer of magnetic sheet and like a steel washer or something glued into the base.
