Someobody worked out the new boxes are, on average, £17 more expensive than before. Can't see the tokens being worth that!

Estimated wait - 21 minutes. Yep this is selling out. Again, hope Travelling Man actually get the stock they’ve sold me. Think I will hold fire on the cart of paints I have until I know it’s coming. Edit: Hmmm. After getting in, GW aren’t selling the old Killteams anymore. They only have the 8 (I think) that are being re-released. Therefore I think the danger of old boxes selling out at indies is now much higher. Tomo I might therefore slightly revise my earlier advice and say if there was a particular set you were interested in it may be worth moving now from Element or whoever. Edit 2 - well, shiiiiiiit. Just bought Kasrkin, Kommandos and Beastmen teams. Plus a shed load of paints. What a twat. Just gotta hope I can intercept that delivery before my partner does!

Edit - Zyrr did I just read correctly that you have ALL the Kill Teams 😂 Sorry! In all the morning preorder chaos I missed this, hah. Yep, I have all the Kill Teams going right back to the Kill Team relaunch in 2018 (which was Admech Vs Genestealer Cults with some very nice scenery). I've picked up every release since. It may sound absolutely crazy, but those 2 team boxes are much better value than buying everything separately and the releases have been spread out enough over the years to make it reasonably manageable. I don't play (or even have the time to paint!) every team, but I do like to try everything and have a number of Warhammer curious folks in my vicinity who don't collect but are up for a quick game of something like Kill Team or War Cry now and then, so having a decent number of options for folks to choose from keeps things fresh That's also the reason why I have every single War Cry warband. ... Look, I don't have a problem! YOU have a problem! Stop looking at me! *runs away crying* (Oh. And Blood Bowl. I forgot about Blood Bowl. I have all the teams for Blood Bowl as well.) (Look, haha, I like my specialist games, okay?!? Haha. Ha.)

It’s fine isn’t it. In my twenties I’d go and spend 80 quid a weekend on pouring drink down my neck and having nothing to show for it other than illness. There’s definitely an addictive side to Warhammer but I think on balance it’s mostly healthy!
Element are selling the ‘new box teams’ at around the mid thirties, so only a couple of pounds dearer then. They still have Hivestorm available too…
…however it looks like the denizens of this thread have stripped Travelling Man bare! They are sold out.

Ooof. I know nothing about any of the factions etc. Tbh, I think I'll prob just go with the preorder and see how I get on. Realistically I'm only gunna have a few times a year to play it with my pal, so prob best for me to suppress the FOMO and get more if and when I get into the game properly.
What are the card Data Packs btw? Required or a nice-to-have?

Card packs are purely a luxury. They basically give you all your faction's stats, rules and special abilities in a convenient form. I'm usually for them, but at the price they're asking for the new ones (almost double the old edition's packs) you're probably as well off just using the book.

TomoIf you’re sticking to the box and saving that way, I might actually recommend you have a wee bonus and try to get hold of the 40K Core Book - it’s gorgeous, full of art and miniatures and gives a brief rundown of who/what everybody is - half of the book is ‘history’, essays and little short stories and has a section of every faction. Depends how much you want to become embroiled in it I suppose! It could also mean that if you wanted to expand beyond Killteam you’ve got a good guide. Some of it is out of date with regards the rules and the Combat Patrols, but for flavour I think it’s the best ‘primer’ available short of spending hours on YouTube to understand the ‘world’. Just don’t buy anything direct from GW as there are several reliable independents that will save you £s - Element, Goblin, Wayland, Travelling Man and more. As an example, that book is about 35 quid from those sort of shops, and about 45 quid from James Workshop. I will as one exception buy small amounts of paints from a WH shop as the savings on paint is often eaten up by postage.

Not so fussed about them as a Kill Team I just want them for 40K. Weird to just stop selling a main unit like that even if temporarily.

First day of my 15 days off work, gonna do some experiments with that GSW Black Steel Pigment powder now that the pigment fixer has arrived, and then maybe actually finally unbox my airbrush this week.

That threshold is good to know. Every time I order a rattle can and a few paints it’s about 35 quid.

@drakesmoke You might have to pay the courier rate for a spray can as they're usually classed as hazardous goods - but I've never ordered a can from Wayland before so I can't be sure about that.

I have also been forced to go the "pay for delivery with DPD" option when buying spray from Wayland, while my last non-spray-including delivery was free with Royal Mail.
Reading through this while a muted Twitch stream in another window drops that Porphyr Shield Bolt Rifle skin for Space Marine 2.
Stahly seems impressed:

I always buy spray cans in person in town, as UPS/DPD are such a fucking nightmare they've largely put me off online shopping.

The main thing I'm looking forward to in the new edition of Kill Team is the end of that stupid fucking symbol system from last edition.
That and co-op/solo play. I think there's a lot of promise there when it comes to introducing new players, as a fair few people really don't want to play PvP, but would be quite happy to play PvE.

It looks fun. Don't know if it's the dice tray they're using, but some of those dice rolls look as though they're loaded. Is Jeedubs getting into the sports entertainment business? Kayfabe deployed.

The main thing I’m looking forward to with Killteam is getting factions I don’t have to be invested in. I’ve considered the crossover with 40K but looking into things it looks like it creates loadout problems with the base game at times because Killteam basically has you wanting to take all those side bonus options whereas, as an example, in 40K the Sisters Novitiates it really wants to be predominantly loaded with auto guns.
I’m therefore going to do them separate to my 40K collections, continue with my 3 or 4 big 40K army collections but basically treat these as if they were Blood Bowl teams with guns. To me that’s cool as f*ck. I’m also going to treat the bases different as a result. Still haven’t quite figured out what to do on that score but they won’t be grassy and I’ve ordered some Astrogranite.
Anyway, nothing like getting that Element Games confirmation of order, shame and regret email after a night out 😂

Tithes Episode 1 is fantastic. Continues directly from Pariah Nexus but probably doesn’t require too much prior knowledge. Edit: episode 2 was even better. So much cool stuff and dark AF! Spoilers! Femstodian! Arbites! The shadow in the warp! VON RYAN’S LEAPERS *AND* LICTORS!
Edit 2! Episode 3 even MOAR EPIC! Kasrkin! Orks! ORK DAKKA JETS! Dog fights! MASSIVE ORKS IN HAND TO HAND COMBAT LIKE GODDAMN GREEN SILVERBACK GORILLAS ORKS ARE MINT!
All this stuff aside, I think this would even scratch Roguey-One’s Imperium Bad Mmmkay itch just grandly! I’ve deliberately tried to not even hint at the overriding stories and twists but they are good. The animation and CGI is also really, really good. If you don’t have WH+ you have to yarrr both this and Pariah Nexus.

Sorry for the amount of recent posting, was also half plastered last night 😂 Anyway here are some nice vids. Firstly a really comprehensive unboxing, skip if you want that experience to be fresh. Stand out points for me is that the mat looks gorgeous and the books are confirmed to be paperback, albeit higher quality than ye olde days: youtu.be/wN5qKHU2X1A?si=wpyQv2A3MrKH7n0dSmall channel but a seemingly decent tutorial (there is an advanced one after this too): youtu.be/1mPOpxA6sxE?si=96IfdxwVUIf6oLny

Me again sorry! Milestone achieved tonight - have finished every Tyranid model I own - to the tune of about 3300 points I think and it’s taken me a year and three months nearly. Of course in that period I have done quite a lot of marine stuff as well so it could have been tied up faster, but that’s no fun. So here are my last three Von Ryan’s Leapers: These actually cost me about 7 quid from memory, as they were from the trial run of Combat Patrol magazine. Bargain! And here is the entire unit of 6. Old ones at the back: I can’t remember when I painted the first three, and I would be really interested - I think they are on here somewhere, but the search isn’t picking anything up. I’ve changed bits of the recipe since then and just generally got a bit more efficient and proficient - but I think the old ones hold up OK. I did in fact do some touch ups - I’d done the ‘gloves’ and the claw sheaths in the flesh colour I use for the elbow joints, and that isn’t really right and looks muddy, so those got a do over. I’ve also realised that my varnish mix has changed over time to go more and more matte, so they got a new coat of that to make the unit consistent. Really feeling quite chuffed, but there is still work to be done on this collection - I may redo the varnish all the more shiny ones, I need to find time to magnetise all the bases, and I need to revisit the lighting on the cabinet and re-do that better. I’m also a bit sad tbh! I do think I have unfinished business though, as I’d like a Norn Assimilator, Toxicrene, and regular Carnifexes, but they will be firmly in ‘next year’ territory.

Lovely work sir! I mean, an army is never really finished, but you have done a fantastic job of painting everything you currently have to a superb standard, well done!
