If an autopistol has a good chance of taking down a genetically engineered supersoldier in power armor, then why even invest these resources. Just invest in more autopistols. It wouldn’t be much fun cosplaying as a planet being brought under compliance would it though

You can't know for sure until you've tried it.

I'm fine with all auto pistols pinging off power armour unless they randomly catch an eye socket or what not. But marines fighting marines in the heresy should use cover against other morons with bolters. Or just not running tanks in the open in to titan scale weaponry. Like WW2 rules contain things where running into the field of fire of an Mg42 or a Vickers get you killed extremely fast. So you use cover or mortars to avoid or suppress the problem. But literally walking into machine guns is dumb.

But surely the Emperor protects! This time he will! he does but he's 20% more effective if you additionally stand behind a thick ruined concrete wall. Statistically anyway. The wall is just an expression of faith

Something Sigmarines I’d wager. They are confirmed for the next big reveal.

By normal standards, there'll be plenty of issue 1. They'll be hanging around on newsagent shelves for weeks.
I'll probably pick up 2 or 3 for test models.

Sainsburys - no dice. Off to try WH Smith which is a fair few miles away.
Will swing back past Tesco.
Will be getting a few for myself and some friends kids, if I can.

But Tesco has come up trumps and I walked away with 3 mags and a big smile!

Tell you what, the terminator captain is a sublime model.
That’s the first mono-pose model I’ve built (only built 5 termies in the modern plastic era) and although I prefer the multi-pose, this goes together beautifully. The way the pieces are split up and then come together perfectly is just amazing.
I’ve struggled through assembling ww2 soldiers by mini art and dragon models, top model companies in their field, and they are nowhere close to this quality. Badly fitting parts, no fit guides, terrible seam lines, lack of detail, poor documentation etc. Night and day for GW and price is similar.
Also, it’s a great for me that the mag has a very vary (very) basic game scenario. Painted 40k since the nineties, never played a game. Going to get the boy to play with me.

I really hate tilting shields and how ubiquitous they've become on space marine models.

Chaos dwarves for Blood Bowl! Looks expensive with the centaurs as Forge World outside the box though.
Other than that a load of rubbish roadmaps with minimal detail on them. No more new 40k stuff until 2025 seems….odd.

40K might be a bit of a relief to me to be honest. Because I made this stupid decision to collect the codexes, I’ve been being hammered for them practically every month! So I guess next month I need to buy Blood Angels and then I’m done for the year. I don’t think I’ll even buy any more minis for a while as so have that much to paint now.

Could 10th ed. even better done in a 3 year cycle with that big a break in codex releases?

I think their production issues are now extremely obvious. They can't even resupply current lines that are out of stock in a reasonable time frame, let alone keep up with these weekly FOMO releases they've locked themselves into.
Yes, they're building a second facility next door, but I think they've finally realised they need to slow everything down until it's up and running. I wouldn't be surprised if they're already looking at building a factory that can produce the most popular plastic ranges in the States to take some of the pressure off Nottingham.
In the meantime, I expect we'll see even more ranges being consolidated and older (or less popular) kits removed from sale so that they can retire the molds and free up some more capacity.

Ooooo hopefully some new plastic Aspect Warriors in 2025, and Death Korps as a full plastic range... that's tempting.
I am getting those Chaos Dorfs!

Finished HH novel 39 Praetorian Of Dorn just now.
Fantastic novel. One of the best in a while, with the focus starting to turn to Terra.
On in to the forties now.

Where you been the last couple of weeks. Ratgod is very much in. Fucking annoyed that they don't have ratlings á la Nurglings. Absolutely missed a trick there

The Cities of Sigmar and new Skaven do make AoS seem interesting suddenly. They actually capture some of that Durer/Blanche vibe that Fantasy had.

Been making myself do some line infantry for the last week. Have another five of these to do so far. So guys I know how everybody here agrees nothing evokes stirring ‘golden age of 40k’ feelings like the words ‘Ultramarines’ ‘Primaris’ and ‘Intercessors’: The sergeant is my first ever kit bash! The chain sword is from the old Blood Angel upgrade sprue and I did some trimming and snipping and glueing to replace the original bolt pistol with a full fat bolt rifle. ‘BROTHER THEY HAVE NOT MODELLED MY MAGAZINE HOUSING WITH A SLOT!’ Lads lads lads

‘BROTHER THEY HAVE NOT MODELLED MY MAGAZINE HOUSING WITH A SLOT!’ lmao I love this meme. My absolute favourite was on a post about one of the Speeder models which has the two heavy stubbers straddling the marine’s head BROTHER I CANNOT HEAR YOU
