All4 (and by extension E4) is such a weird mashup of stuff. There are some absolutely blinding shows on there, but it's mainly hidden behind all this 'Married at first sight' or "I shagged my mum" bullshit.
That said, it's not as bad as the ITV hub, which is 90% reality/sex bullshit and only really has a few kids shows and a handful of dramas to redeem it.
I don't remember all that shit from when I was young. I blame Big Brother.
I wonder if the new Gamesmaster is going to be remotely safe for kids. The old one often skirted the line, but I guess the new one is going to be targeting nostalgic adults?

It works for me, at the very least it exceeds expectations for an E4 reboot with none of the original people involved. Rab carries it, obviously, but the genre vibe seems like there are people involved who get it.
That might just be nostalgia talking though.

Thought it was a good start, probably could have done without the blatant Facebook sponsor segment that was the Beat Sabre bit but that was made worth it with the bloke's dad looking unimpressed.
It does look like anyone failing isn't really burnt to death as Snoochie Shy is in I'm A Celeb, what a swizz.

It feels like a parallel universe where ITV made World in Action, an investigative current affairs programme that used to get 23 million viewers, brought down numerous cabinet ministers and reversed numerous miscarriages of justice. 8pm on a Monday night now gets you, Gino's Italian Family Adventure. |

Well I liked it- it was definitely at least partly pitched at the kids who watched it 30 years ago, and everyone in the audience seemed to be someone who would have seen it the first time around. Rab was great, Frankie was great... the other guy wasn't offensive.
It just needed a 42 year-old man asking the Gamesmaster for tips on Sonic the Hedgehog.

I enjoyed that a lot more than I expected to. I had a big grin on my face for parts of it.
I might even watch it with the kids, and skip the Mortal Kombat bit.

I quite enjoyed GM too - the heavy-duty CGI when folks got flushed was amusing and reminded me of Knightmare and there were elements from VideoGaiden which help break things up a bit in slightly surreal way. Beat Sabre guy's (sorry, The Beast's) Dad made me laugh.
I was wondering if it would be suitable for kids, but not sure with the choices of Mortal Kombat and CoD. Can't help wonder if it will just be ignored by the yoof of today but happy to see it back still sporting what looks like the Quick Shot 2 Turbo.

I watched it from the beginning and think it was alright for a bit of nostalgia but doesn't stand up as a piece of modern entertainment
