I've heard both ends of the spectrum regarding One Day - some real love for it and others saying it's dogshit.

You could watch the film. That’d save you some time and give you a taste of whether you want to dive deeper into the Nicholls Expanded Universe and take on the series.

I liked the book when I read it a hundred years ago, I can't imagine the show has that much more to say than reading it once will satisfy though.

I remember enjoying watching Starter For Ten first time around but saw part of it again recently and the posh accents are so heavy handed it was like they’d been dubbed in at points.

If you like experimental archeology, old men tinkering in sheds and Tony Robinson then the latest Time Team project is a must watch.
Its not a dig but a documentary about building a full size water-worthy replica of the ship from the Sutton Hoo burial mound. For a Patreon/Youtube revival they really are doing tv quality work. And they have a dig at Sutton Hoo coming out later in the month.
Man, I wish I was spending Sunday nights with my dad again.

Blue Eye Samurai - 1x06
What an episode. Incredible visuals that somehow surpassed the five previous ones.
The only criticism I have at this point is that character resilience is starting to strain credulity, given that both Mizu and Taigen should be dead about ten times over by now with the amount of injuries they've sustained in battle/torture.

Interview With The Vampire - 2x04
This show hasn't had a single bad episode yet, but this one was just astonishingly good even after 2x03 was another high-note.
I was struggling to remember what I'd seen the actor playing Santiago in before, and I should have guessed from the voice alone that he was General Riose in Foundation.
Thanks for this! I hadn't even seen anything about this show so we stuck it on from the start the other night and are loving it. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it, it's been really good (4 eps in).

Now that I've finished the absolutely glorious Blue Eye Samurai, I need something else to watch, so is Gangs Of London worth it?

First season is great with loads of stand out action scenes, and one episode in particular is breathtaking.
2nd season seemed to lose all of that. Still worth it for some of the best action scenes you'll see in a TV show though.

They filmed a bar fight scene in my dad's old local boozer (The Horseshoe in Clerkenwell). Keep meaning to watch it just for that.

I seem to be watching Trooping the Colour. I thought it was Saturday kitchen, but so it goes.

Now that I've finished the absolutely glorious Blue Eye Samurai, I need something else to watch, so is Gangs Of London worth it? I went from BES (which I loved) straight to Shogun (which I also loved).

Utter bollocks. 1970s UFO sighting nonsense where the BBC have decided to put creepy suspenseful music over some of the dullest footage they have probably ever recorded. Nauseatingly bad.
Hope it gets a third series.

Is it me or does she sound like someone doing a bad impression of a Welsh accent?

I like the bits where they have all the stuff laid out on the floor and the camera joins in as if they’re actually doing a real investigation.
I mentioned Uncanny when I did a post about it and I do reckon the elevator pitch for it was along the lines of “let’s put that podcast on tv but make the host sexy”.
But then I have watched every episode and would watch more.

The Lazarus Project S2
Two episodes in and this is a big step down in quality... I had issues with the first season but enjoyed it overall with one or two brilliant stand out episodes. Season two is stretching my suspension of disbelief ability past its breaking point, though. Kinda glad in a way given the show was cancelled.

started watching Shogun. Liking it so far, but every time Cosmo Jarvis is on screen I find myself thinking "no, we have a Tom Hardy at home"

If it helps, the show is more about the Toranaga character than the anjin.
And Yabushige. What an absolute champion that guy is.

I don't even dislike Jarvis, I think he's decent in the role. Just find his manerisms so similar to Hardy's it's odd ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Interview With The Vampire - 2x07 - "I Could Not Prevent It"
Dear fucking god. They took one of the most intense sequences of the film and ramped it up into something for which I have no words. That final shot is going to stay in my mind for a long time.
