I've got beef with Pratchett.

I'm watching Eric on Netflix. It's one of those shows where everyone is very good in it, but at the same time I'm not sure the series is actually working. I'm only two episodes in but it's very much trying to be too many things aat once. Nothing that's made me want to turn off though - there's still time for it to turn everything round. Is this another Pratchett adaptation? They never quite work on the screen. It’s not, but I agree about the Pratchett adaptations. Some very strange decisions made in some of the cases - why produce a Hogfather series without the context of Mort and Soul Music?

I enjoyed that recent adaptation of The Watch.
Matt Berry as the voice of a sword called Wayne was perfect.

I enjoyed that recent adaptation of The Watch.Matt Berry as the voice of a sword called Wayne was perfect. I only watched the start, but I meant to go back to it. It's odd, because superficially it was the one that strayed by far the furthest from the source material, but on the other hand it was the one that seemed to end up the best. Even though I love the source material. I don't think it did very well though, as first impressions were that it wasn't very 'Discworld' at all.

Surely the only way to get Discworld right is to go the cartoon route. Otherwise they either look cheap (Sky adaptations) or a million miles off base (The Watch)

They did some of the Witches ones as cartoons, didn't they? Those never quite worked for me either, despite looking the part and having a good cast.

Interview With The Vampire - 2x04
This show hasn't had a single bad episode yet, but this one was just astonishingly good even after 2x03 was another high-note.
I was struggling to remember what I'd seen the actor playing Santiago in before, and I should have guessed from the voice alone that he was General Riose in Foundation.

Star Wars: Acolyte.
Only an episode in but I think the Star Wars well has officially run dry.
Also ends on one of the most stupid and meaningless lines of dramatic dialogue I think I’ve ever heard.

But is it better than Obi Wan and Boba Fett?

Too early to say… but for me, at least, those are awfully low bars to clear.

Soccer Aid on ITV. I didn’t realise Usain Bolt can really play and pace isn’t a problem. 😬

I quite liked Hiddleston having MCU entrance music when he was subbed on. Next step on the road to football becoming sports-entertainment?

I think they said the entrance music was a new addition for this year. Loki definitely had the best music, really suited the occasion

I'm currently watching a documentary about the cabbage kid in Furiosa. Apparently he was bullied in school, which is super sad, obviously.
I... guess I'd be honoured if George Miller said "hey, sorry that people bullied you for looking weird", and then said "want to come play a weird freak in my new Mad Max movie"? There's no malice in it or anything, and I guess he's relatively famous now, but it still feels weird to me.

So better than Boba Fett too then. I thought Boba Fett had its moments, whereas Obi Wan was truly diabolical from start to finish (well I assume so, I didn't make it to the finish)

tru fact, obi wan was filmed just down the hill from my house, at the bottom of my daily walk. This clearly did not help.

I enjoyed Obi Wan more than Boba. I mean, they were both objectively terrible but I think I was more invested in how shit Ewan's accent was. Again.

Interview With The Vampire - 2x05 - Don't Be Afraid, Just Start The Tape
I'm consistently impressed with how they continue to subvert the original story in new ways that make it far more compelling and interesting.
Confirmation of what I'd come to suspect a few episodes back, and that I now realise they were even alluding to in season 1:
Armand has been fucking with Louis' memory for years.
Absolutely horrific visual of Louis attempting to go into the sun.
Jacob Anderson and Eric Bogosian are phenomenally good in this, as is Luke Brandon Field as the younger version of Daniel, who has Bogosian's voice and mannerisms down to perfection.

The Leftovers continues to be great (just finished S1E8 I think). Even Qualley has grown on me a bit.
Excellent Max Richter score as well.
Also started One Day, which is quite decent so far. Cheeky chappie off White Lotus S2 and the junior doctor off This Is Going to Hurt in a decades spanning cockblocked romance. Starts off in '88 with a decent soundtrack of the era.

Is One Day just those annoying bits in romantic dramas where they 'almost get together, but someone walks in before they can declare their feelings' but dragged out for decades?

Seems that way after a couple of episodes. I think that was the general premise of the book, so probably not going to be your cuppa.
