Titans S3 (Netflix)
I quite enjoyed the first 2 seasons. I did not enjoy this one.
Stuff just happens, lots of implausible stuff. I'm not enough of a comic book nerd to know if this follows any existing storylines but the writing here just seems really bad. The stakes never feel real, Gotham never feels populated and the fights mostly consist of run-ins with generic goons, ghouls, and a seemingly brainless GCPD.

Oh. My. God. Season 5 Episode 2 of Money Heist. They are absolutely nailing it with this season. I have never wanted something to happen in a TV programme quite as much as I wanted the end of this episode to happen.

Hawkeye (as far as ep4) is continuing to be delightful fun. The two leads are awesome.
I hope it doesn't do the usual marvel tv show thing and have an ending that's the opposite quality of its beginning.

Gomorrah S5E1 - just make sure you've caught up on everything before you start this one is all I'll say...
Curb S11E4 - absolutely fucking brilliant so far

Yeah I was quite liking those couple of years when Cliff was cancelled.
Shame he hadn't done terrible things as we're now having to suffer him everywhere again.

Didn’t Cliff win some cash from the BBC and Police for implying he was a wrong un and showing his house being raided on tv?

I can’t decide whether Dopesick is great or just has a great cast.
I think I’d probably prefer it as a documentary though.

I've started watching the X Files after reading some of simple's posts on it. I've already been told off by the sexy police for thinking Gillian Anderson is really attractive
I remember being really disappointed when I was younger and found out Chris Carter didn't believe any of this stuff. Probably saved me from being a conspiracy freak though

I'm about halfway through Gomorrah Season 5.
It's great, but tbh it feels a bit rushed, like they wanted this to be over and done with. Characters are pushed into conflict with other characters over the space of a single episode, other characters act like compete idiots for no reason, betrayals happening everywhere at the drop of a hat. Which would be fine if their motivations always made sense, but they often don't.
...wow, I'm basically describing the end of Game of Thrones, aren't I. Well, it's a lot more satisfying than that!

I think part of the problem is that there's only maybe 3 or 4 major characters who survived Season 4, and you can't really hang the story just around them. You've got to have some new people, basically.
And there are a lot of new people! But because this is (probably) the final season, you don't really get much time to get to know them.

That's fair enough, quite a lot happened in the last one, but I hope the end will be worth it after all the grimness we've waded through so far!
TBH, even if the end was quite grim, I'd be expecting that as it's kind of par for the course. I'm not exactly expecting a 'walking off happily into the sunset' thing.

There's all this talk about HONOUR and BROTHERHOOD and all that. But when it comes down to it, these people are fighting about who gets to sell cocaine in a suburb of Naples. It's hardly heroic stuff. Most of these people deserve to die in a fire, and the world would probably be a better place for it.

I hope it doesn't do the usual marvel tv show thing and have an ending that's the opposite quality of its beginning. Yeah I think it's a pretty major concern at this point. We're like 2.5/3 for "Ending with a massive quality drop". WandaVision's end was terrible on multiple levels (and the credits stinger thing was just eye-roll material). Falcon's ending was multiple of the biggest cop-outs ever seen on TV. Loki's ending wasn't as terrible but it was a pretty annoying cliffhanger. So kind of nervous for this. Guess I'll watch the first episode of S6 of The Expanse, a sci-fi show I watching simply because there aren't really many space sci-fi shows around. Will report back.

Brooklyn '99 - nearing the end of the first season.
I quite like Andy Samberg and there are some good lines here and there and the occasional superb sequence. One guy looks so much like Jon Arbuckle from Garfield come to life it's genuinely confusing that Garfield predates him.
The lack of laughter track means that when the writing isn't so hot or the jokes are obvious it doesn't grate. Equally I know many people love this show and I'm not really seeing the reason for high praise yet?
If anyone is a fan, how representative is the quality of S1 for later seasons? Is it going up or down from here?

Brooklyn '99 - nearing the end of the first season. If anyone is a fan, how representative is the quality of S1 for later seasons? Is it going up or down from here? So I watched season 1 and I had EXACTLY this reaction. "Why do people think this is great? It just seems okay" I got about 3/4s of the way through S1 then gave up. Then like, I didn't watch it for, I dunno a year or maybe even two or three, and then I watched the rest of S1 and started on S2 just because I was kind of out of comedy, and for whatever reason, suddenly it was hilarious. I don't think it's that S2 is that much better, but like, the characters really "sunk in" by the end of S1, and then the way they use them in later series makes it work a lot better. So I'd say, my feeling is later seasons are better, because then they're working with your existing expectations. There are always episodes which are a bit more "Heh" than "Hahaha", but there are also some utterly hysterical episodes with a ton of laugh-out-loud. Just watched S6 E1 of The Expanse, and well, that's The Expanse all right. Space politics, lots of tense conversations on poorly-lit space ships, belters are all lunatics, lots of nearly dying, fusion reactors, "frowny face" is the default expression of everyone and so on. I didn't feel like this episode really went anywhere, which is a little worrying given I understand they only have 6 episodes total this season to wrap the whole entire series up, and we're already starting new potentially-annoying subplots, but maybe they'll make it work.

Holt is a legend.
Watching Wentworth, a remake of Prisoner cell block H and finished the first series and it's actually quite good.

Dark Matter Ep 1
I was kinda in need of a space show. Starting to rewatch Babylon 5 rekindled the interest, but I've found the static setting, combined with the age of the show, and having seen it before, mean that it's a bit too sedate and dry at times. The expanse was meh, and despite enjoying the first few seasons of Killjoys, it seemed to be about to jump the shark around season 3.
So, in a rare moment of downtime, and in search of something easy to watch and sci-fi, I tried the other SyFy space show. Dark Matter.
Initial impressions were a bit meh. They had a bigger budget for the ship than Killjoys, but the characters seemed a bit bland or archetypal. Design/Aesthetics is a bit 90s 'everyone wears baddass black'. You have your badass sexy chick who fills both the empowerement and eye candy roles. Your bland sexy dude. Your asian guy who's good with katanas because he's asian. Your Seven-of-Nine clone. Your cute/ditzy/weird/nerd girl with colored hair, plus a couple of others.
Once they get down on land it's the same quarries and factories that Killjoys uses, and even the same actors as the first dude they meet is one of the main antagonists from Killjoys.
But but but it did surprise me with the twist at the end. In hindsight, I probably should have seen it coming, but I wasn't really expecting a twist so soon. Simply by virtue of that twist it makes gives things potential to be a bit more interesting.
I'm not sure I'll stick with it, but it seems like a solid if generic 7/10 space scooby gang show. But if they run with the potential of the twist, it could give it a bit more of an interesting spin.

Very late, but Man Down (season 1) is marvellous.
I'll keep watching, but I think Rik Mayall left us after the first series and it feels like he hurls the chunk of chaos into the mix that makes the whole thing work. The Xmas special was a proper shit my pants gaffawing deal with his 12 scares thing.
Tldr: I miss Rik Mayall

I tried watching some episodes from one of the later seasons (S21) of The Simpsons, from after when I gave up on it (I dunno, but before 21 I guess), and ooof fuck damn wow. Yeah that really had gone downhill. It seems like only 20% of the episodes were actually funny or even mildly clever, and that's being generous (there is the odd one which is randomly like "old Simpsons", but only middling old Simpsons). Also there were some weird continuity/drawing errors in a few episodes, which was bizarre (like the teacher collected all the phones from the kids and put them in a drawer, then we got a brief shot a few seconds later of the kids sitting at their desks with smashed/smoking phones in front of them - I guess they re-wrote it but didn't entirely re-draw it).
If I watch any more I guess I'll have to get a watch guide that points out the few worth watching.
