Had a look for Stillmatic on Spotify and looks like Nas and Jay Z have done something together. Guess they made up

Man, Scarface's first five albums are solid. The Other Side of the Law is great
What's with all the screwed versions of albums on Spotify? Had a quick listen to one and it just seemed like a slowed down version?
Listened to SORRRY NOT SORRY (Nas/Jay Z) and I hate it. I can't stand that voice effect. It sounds so shit, why do they do it?
My favourite Nas track:

All of Nas' albums are worth listening to. Even the ones that aren't classics have classic songs and verses on them.
You might like Big Pun if you haven't listened to him yet. Capital Punishment is a great album. He died quite young so unfortunately didn't get much material from him.
Do you mean auto tune? If so I hate it, unfortunately that's an influence from Kanye and T-Pain that's in a lot of rap nowadays. That sorry/not sorry is a song from a DJ Khalid album, best to avoid stuff from him.

Nah, screwed is a down south technique of slowing down music meant to emulate the feel of sipping purple drink.

Capital Punishment is really good. I think it reminded me of Biggie a bit
Yeah, autotuning, that Cher shit. I think it sounds awful. T-Pain and Akon, you dicks
I've got Nas' discog pegged for a full listen out of respect for you, Rum

Probably more T-Pain and Akon than Kanye tbh. He stole it from them.

And groups you have to listen to, Bone Thungs N Harmony and The Lox.
E.1999 is a good place to start for BTnH

What are some good UK hip hop acts? That stuff doesn't come across the pond as often as it should. What's a UK equivalent to like a Mobb Deep?

The only UK rap type stuff I know is The Bug. Apparently it's Drill or some shit

Yeah, I wouldn't have a clue either on who to recommend. Never really bothered with UK rap so would be interested if anyone does have any recommendations.

There's also this, which I liked but went off it a bit after I started listening to more US stuff

Griselda might have been decent but there's this one sound one of them makes that is so annoying and was present on the first three tracks so I stopped there. He seems to have decided it's his signature sound. It's like when someone knows you don't like something, so they keep doing it in your ear or in your face just to get on your nerves
I listened to some Ice Cube (think it was his first or second solo album) which I liked the overall sound of, though his lyrics weren't all that. Apparently he's anti-vax now
50 Cent's The Massacre is pretty good. Any time he tries to write about something other than gansta shit though, it's really lame

Picks for 2021?
I'd probably go Mach Hommy - Pray for Haiti if it weren't for Westside Gunn spaffing his stupid noises all over it. Everything else about it is brilliant (and really distinctive).
Instead probably Armand Hammer - Haram, been watching these guys for a long time and always liked but never loved their stuff. This one seems to be the point where for me they've nailed it perfectly (with the Alchemist's special sauce, naturally).
Shout out to Arrested Development - for the FKN love although sadly I haven't had the chance to listen enough for it to pip the post.

I just watched a video to a song by Arrested Development on YT and there was a woman dancing with a chicken. I liked it

Loved the tune and the video. Whole thing just gives me good feelings Shamefully I haven't listened to King's Disease 2 so will rectify that today. Also forgot to mention Awon and Phoniks - Nothing Less Yes I'm stuck in the 90s

Drunk on my way home and decided
1) Nas illmatic 2) scarface the diary 3) clipse hell hath no fury
Maybe blueprint jay z should be in there.
Best three albums made through
So many other classic albums like ready to die but I feel most or them had a few skip tracks on the there where those top three maybe four with blueprint are front to back quality.

The Diary and Wu-Tang Forever would be in my top three. There's a couple of skips in Forever but it's nearly 2 hours so I think that's fine

Good list, although the Clipse being there over someone like Mobb Deep is a surprise.
1. It Was Written 2. Ready to Die 3. 2001
Stuff like The Diary, E.1999 and Lauryn Hill are always in with a shout of getting up there.

Third would probably be Ready to Die though
