On about the fourth listen in a row. Pure fire but then he is easily in my top 3 so I'm likely biased!!
Malice's verse on the final track is quality as always.
Pusha consistently gets some of kanyes best beats. I believe the whole lp is produced by Kanye and Pharrell.

Yeah the production is absolute class. I feel Pusha reigns in Kanye a bit so he gets his more reserved beats that aren't overproduced which has plagued Kanyes latter stuff.
It opens up with a perfect track as well, not a skippable song on there so far for me.

Not sure what order to put them in but my top 5 based on the last decade have gotta be
Freddie Gibbs Benny the butcher Pusha T Run the Jewels Schoolboy Q
All five are in near constant rotation these days.

Clipse - hell hath no fury. First listen for a while. Maybe the best rap album ever for me. Ever line front to back and every beat front to back is bliss. I can imagine for a lot of people the production isn't their thing but lyrically, oh my.

New Pusha T album out this Friday and new Kendrick Lamar album in May. Really looking forward to both, especially Kendrick. Reminded me to listen to this again... Absolute fire. Both verses are so hard. I'm not overly fussed with Kendricks new album. Hopefully it's fire but I'm not overly sure of what he is going to release. Only album of his I love is good kid maad city. Of other so called great albums to me are half classic tunes half boring. Like he definitely isn't dropping songs like m.A.A.d city again.

The new Kendrick Lamar single is everything I feared it would be. An okay song that I listened to carefully on first listen but I now never need to hear it again ever. Trying too hard to be special instead of making sure the music is amazing.

I'm quite liking that new Kendrick Lamar album.
It's over 70 minutes long and there's not really a duff moment on there, which is pretty impressive.

Yeah, there's some great songs on there. As with all Kendricks albums they flew really well sharing a theme throughout the whole thing.

Unfortunately it's exactly what I was expecting.
I've listened to it maybe four times now and overall I just find it boring. A bit like his previous album. There's some great moments as usual but just playing the album bores me to death. I found the first listen interesting as I wanted to hear what he had to say but after that it's a bit zzzzzz. Tries too hard to be critically acclaimed and not just make dope music.

Sort of agree. Loved GKMC and TPAB but DAMN and this haven't really hooked me in the same way.
Still - early days yet!

Yeah, really not getting into the latest Kendrick album despite it finishing strongly.
We Cry Together is the worst thing I've ever heard him do. Yikes.

Rtj was as epic as I was expecting. Shame more artists in hip hop aren't like these guys live.
Currently enjoying tana talk 4 although the production is pretty average. I mean how they thought that beat was okay for the next 10 crack commandments??? That beat had to be epic to match the original.

Yeah I really like BTB but that beat wasn't it. I do love the album though - makes me feel like I'm on some major crud even though I'll just be sat in traffic or riding my bike haha.
Been revisiting a lot of Rodney P the last few weeks. I don't understand how he isn't everywhere

Busta is great, but always been best as a feature. A whole album of him, or even a whole track can be a bit much. He absolutely shines on someone else’s track though. Honestly I kind of feel the same about Eminem. I know what you mean but Busta has definitely had some bangers. Put your hands where my eyes could see. Well maybe just the one The Busta Rhymes slander in this post!!! My GOD! Taste is subjective and all that, but according to my play counter, Busta is my most played artist. Looking at the top shelf recommendations in this thread, I will assume that everyone has actually heard my suggestions. And *shuffles through favourited tracks in my library*, huh, if the criterion is Busta songs without any features..., well, maybe those are a little thin on the ground. Hm. As you were. Looks like my library agrees. The only songs I have favourited with only him on them are from way, way back. From the Anarchy album. (I will say though that I would put all three of those above Put your hands where my eyes could see)

PYHWMECS stands out for me because I remember walking from the Main Stage at Glastonbury over to the Dance (maybe Pyramid) stage with that baseline just thumping. Put our whole group on a vibe Can't say I'd heard the Anarchy Album before to be honest, but that Bladow track is something special!

Busta is okay. A few classics and some great features with zero great albums. Great performer though.

Busta is okay. A few classics and some great features with zero great albums. Great performer though. Zero great albums? Again, I respectfully disagree! Although, I will fully accept that the marker for a great album is different from person to person. Personally speaking, not a single album exists for me where I love every track on it. Not a single one. But that's ok. For me, what makes a great album is an album with 3 great songs on it. Completely understand that other people have a different definition, but I came to that conclusion years ago and I came up with that metric, because singles used to cost £3. And if I could get an album that was the equivalent of 3 great songs, I was satisfied. So, let's go through those Busta albums and the songs I like: The Coming (1996): Everything remains raw Woo Ha. Obviously. When Disaster strikes (1997) I don't actually like this album. At all. And I don't care for PYHWMECS Extinction Level Event (1998) Extinction Level Event (The song of salvation) Just Give it to me Raw Gimme some more What's it gonna be This means War!! (feat Ozzy Osbourne) Anarchy (2000) Bladow!!! All Night Get Out Why we die Genesis (2001) Everybody Rise again Truck Volume It ain't safe no more (2002) What do you do when you're branded Make it clap I know what you want Make it clap remix The Big Bang (2006) Been through the Storm In the Ghetto Cocaina I love my Bitch I'll do it all Back on my BS (2009) Kill Dem We Miss You (this song and the next one are my personal favourite Busta tracks) Don't believe Em Decision I'll do another post with his more recent albums. I have not listened to them for a little while. But try and expand your horizons. I like all the songs above.

Yeah for me a great album is an album with almost no filler. There aren't that many out there in hip hop that I would call great as most of the good ones are half shit.
For example biggies life after death is 50% fucking amazing and 50% utter shit. Ready to die is a great album though front to back.
Illmatic. It's dark and hell is hot. Blueprint. Hell hath no fury. Any rtj album. The diary. Resurrection. Ready to die. are some examples I can quickly think of now but there's at least double that I'm forgetting.
So as you say it's more our definition of what makes us love an album. For me yeah bustas albums have three great songs on but the rest I never want to hear again so for me that makes it a weak album.
All eyes on me is another example. Half classic have Terri le.
