No idea. But on the subject of earworms, my mate at uni (23 years ago) had a mix CD with a remix of the Talkin All That Jazz over the 900 Number, but where the beat was chopped up in places. I've had it rattling around in my head for all this time and just located it on youtube

Best hip hop gig I've been to was Busta, he had the whole place absolutely jumping. Was just an insane stage presence and the crowd really responded to that.
I'm surprised he doesn't get recommended more in this thread actually.

Busta is great, but always been best as a feature. A whole album of him, or even a whole track can be a bit much. He absolutely shines on someone else’s track though. Honestly I kind of feel the same about Eminem.

Anyone watched the new Kanye West doc on Netflix yet? Only one episode so far, ep 2 up next week. Really good first episode so far. Great footage of him trying to make in New York and meeting up with Scarface, mos Def, talib etc. First episode covers 1998-2002 ish before the first album drops.

For me, Hov and Snoop are the GOATS from the longevity and adaptability factors, but from a flow perspective, it's Blackthought, Big Boi and Inspectah Deck, from a style perspective it's Andre three stacks and Ghost

Do quite like Denzel Curry. My knowledge of hip hop is a bit lacking compared to other genres I like, but I think Denzel Curry is very interesting, he came up with the SoundCloud lot but actually has a lot more talent imo, and his albums have straddled and dipped effortlessly into student sub-genres of hip hop
Quite looking forward to his new album and this D'n'B inflected track sees him stretching to new styles again.

I listened to MBDTF yesterday without strictly thinking of it as a rap album and really enjoyed it
Also heard U Don't Know and liked that too
Hurrah

Tana Talk 4 is out today for any Benny fans. I haven't listened yet but the single was great so I'm excited.

Yes Lionel.
Give Conway a listen he's very consistent like Benny. Westside Gunn is the wee link though, and not just because of his annoying voice.
In Nas news he's releasing Kings Disease 3 this year. Amazing he's still releasing albums this late into his career.

In a bit of a music slump at the moment, nothing is really doing it for me. Basically just been playing only built 4 Cuban linx & nas radio on Spotify last few days but it's still not bringing me out of this weird ass funk I'm in.
Any album recommendations for mood/productivity boosting? Will give anything a go rn, new or old.

Illadelph Halflife and Things fall apart from The Roots might help.

Enjoying his album quite a bit. It's pretty varied and not exactly all killer (partly because some of the styles are very much not my thing) but there are some bangers for sure!

One of the features on the Denzel Curry album is Rico Nasty and quite liked her flow and sound so had a google search. I really rather like this, she's very acerbic. Musically it's possibly up there with my favourite Kenny Beats productions (that I've heard, at least, my hip knowledge is a bit limited compared to some other genres I like).
