Vandelay Sorry to hear about the performance issues. I have only seen a bit of slowdown when walking through foliage, it's consistent and pretty offputting but not a gamebreaker so far - hopefully it stays that way. Played a bit more and seems much smoother this morning. No changes made, but perhaps a reboot rejigged some 1s and 0s around into a better place. Not flawless, but not as off-putting as it was. Restarted with the samurai and definitely finding it better than bandit. Will be sticking with this one I think. Managed to get back to the same place I was before in just about 20 mins and then did some more exploring around the first area. It really is quite good. Perhaps the tech issues last night put on a bit of a downer with it. I was enjoying it, but it didn't seem to be much more than just Dark Souls with some open world bits. Playing some more, the open world feels like it will be a total game changer. I've always loved the exploration elements of these games and the open world is taking that to another level. If the opening area is anything to go by, there is going to be so much to see and plenty of places to poke around. Comparisons to Breath of the Wild are probably going to get clichéd, but it really does feel like one of the few open world games that has really learnt from it. Found a second horseback rider mini-boss, who seems like he might be slightly more doable than the first one (even with some wolf summons and an upgraded Uchi, that first seems like it will be a struggle), so think I'll focus on him. I want to see what is hiding over the bridge he is patrolling, before moving on with the main path. Looking forward to seeing how more isolated dungeon areas are incorporated. If they still retain the same quality of traditional From games, then this could easily become my favourite SoulsBorne game. |

Surprised at the difference in load times between PS5 and XSX. 6-7 seconds on PS5 and 18-20 seconds on XSX according to DF. That is a lot more waiting about considering the amount of deaths that are likely to happen. How can 2 SSD machines be so different? A pity that neither machine can do locked 60 fps unless you go down the BC PS4 route. Takes longer to load on xbox because it's better on xbox looks better xbox better box x box best box x box best x box box box Takes about 10 seconds on Xbox. I feel like I'm probably supposed to be higher level for the fight outside the castle. I'm not doing nearly enough damage, and the summon help I'm getting isn't... helpful.

I found it to be a massive help, but I'm playing the Astrologer with ranged magic, which definitely is much easier than melee in this fight |

After initally getting smashed by them, I ran through all the slow guys with the turkey faces scooping up all the loot on the way, and I'm now getting pummelled by either a giant crab or, if I get past that, some butch blue glowing dudes. I need to get better at shield counters! |
