Yuka Kitamura needs more flowers. She composed about half of bloodborne, all of sekiro and about 1/3 of elden ring and all of shadow of the erdtree. She also worked on dark souls 3 but without googling some more I’m not sure how much. Just so many epic tracks she has created including my new favourite bayle the dread.

Doesn’t look like it. She did around half but not that but she composed the fucking amazing ds3 main title theme and the blood borne one.

Malenia is so cool. Apart from that one attack, it's a really fun fight. Not looking for tips or strategies or anything, but is it possible to cleanly dodge that mad combo she does at med load? I've only managed to survive it a few times but it's mostly dodge spamming and luck at the moment. Often it's a trip to the You're Dead screen even at full health (I think she could probably kill me 4 times over). I've got 45 vigor now- I treated myself to some after Godskin Duo (level 85) Haligtree was much rougher than Farum Azula and contained a fair bit of silliness, like those 3 crystal enemies in a tiny little space and all those crawly things with the crowns. It seemed like that area was designed for you to sneak by but then one just materialises from the ground in the middle of the path Looks like I'm going to be going back and forth between Malenia and Maliketh for a while. Got the DLC downloading so I'll have a look at that as well when it's done peacemaker is Sekiro 60fps on Series X? I think it was 30 when I played it on PS4 and I've heard it's a lot easier at 60. Really fancy playing it but Namco Bandai need to sort their pricing out. They still want £60 for it and £70 for DS3. They aren't even current gen

Involves going back a lot but also forward and under her. Yeah sekiro is 60fps and also a higher resolution on series x, looks and runs beautifully. You can probably get it cheap on eBay etc or a cheap code.

Struggling to find a cheap price for Sekiro, nothing available on cdkeys and it's expensive as fuck everywhere else. Is it because it's an Activision published game and their absolute gouging?

Nah, all From's stuff is expensive on Xbox. Forgot it was Activision. Just have to wait for a sale. Have you played it before?

From what I've seen it barely goes on sale on either platform and has maintained almost full price since release. So yeah classic Activision. I haven't played it before but I would like to try a From Software game that actually gives the player more tools in terms of player ability. I understand it's way more linear so it's more git gud than anything if and when you reach a roadblock.

It’s absolutely amazing. It’s hard at first because the combat is very different but once you get it then it is not bad at all. It’s just the first steep learning curve.
Great map, visuals, music, art style, fantastic boss fights and easily the best combat mechanics of any from software title.

If you haven't played it before, it might be worth full price if you're impatient. It's a great action game. I've finished it a few times already though so I don't want to pay that
It is difficult but a lot fairer than Elden Ring. There's only really one way to play it. You'll know you can parry nearly everything (there's a few attacks you have to dodge or counter but it's made really clear). Took me a while to get the hang of it but once I did, it was brilliant. Finished it 3 times back to back. It's a much more even game than anything else they've made
Once you've learned a boss and can parry everything they throw at you, it feels amazing. Lots of cool boss fights too
There used to be a member here called bichii who played it about 600 times

Pro Sekiro tip - don't worry about trying to time your parries, just keep tapping the block button and you will almost certainly get the block. You may not get the perfect parry (does big posture damage to the enemy), but will keep you protected most of the time.
Made the game a hell of a lot easier when I realised how effective just hammering L1 is.
Sekiro is great. I don't think it is quite up there with Dark Souls or Bloodborne, but the bosses are possibly the best From have ever done.

Is Sekiro not on Game Pass then? While you are waiting for a sale, you could practice your rhythm skills in Hatsune Miku Project Diva

It's my favourite FROM game of the lot, just pipping Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Think it's time for another playthrough...

I don't think there's ever been a From Soft game on Gamepass.

Had a quick look at the DLC and the opening area looks amazing. Such good use of colour. Didn't play for long but managed to get my first couple of blessings and some new weapons. The beast claws look fun. Was expecting to get crushed right out of the gate but have managed to not die so far. Had to shit scared out of me a couple of times by something that keep screaming though
Disappointed there was no intro cutscene

The DLC is a level above even the main game for me. It has some truly stunning areas.
Just worked my way through the Abyssal Woods to a (surprise surprise) dilapidated mansion/school and I’m just blown away by the atmosphere and design of it all.
The end boss can be as bullshit as they want it to be because the journey has been worth it. Not getting the criticism of the DLC at all.

Even without the really strong spell I used, there's many proven ways to win even without being a challenge runner. Heck, there's videos of the stone golem from the forges (as a Spirit Ash) soloing the fight with some support (which is much safer now with Heal From Afar)!

It greatly depends on playstyle, with the popular solo melee+dodge playstyle he's BS, with some others he's a total joke. It's wildly imbalanced and could have used more time in the oven. I suspect he may be unfinished due to rushed release, which on the upside would mean that he might get fixed via patches.

Fair, but even then you can usually pivot to melee and block pretty easily I think. DadFE actually used a combination, a holy-infused Greatshield plus the Impenetrable Thorns spell, and he probably had an easier time than I did being dodgy with the same spell! (Or at least he didn't need a mutual kill to win )

It's a tough pill to swallow if you're among the many no-shield nazis. I couldn't be bothered anymore though so I eventually switched to a greatshield and suddenly he was like the easiest and most braindead boss fight ever.
Another one of the new remembrance bosses--one of the fan-favourites--was also weird. I tried it the regular way for a while but then I realised it was much easier to just face tank him with claws, despite playing a light load build with little defence. It didn't feel like that was supposed to happen.

The "I am going to remove all my clothes and roll around on the floor naked to dodge explosions" thing has always seemed weird to me.

I mean, I understand the appeal for the "what do you mean that boss was difficult, I beat it without taking a hit" crowd, who will presumably lose all credibility with their peers if they so much as look at a shield.
But like... this is an explosion that covers half of an arena. How is it that you can roll through it and not take even a little bit of damage.

i frames Your dodge has a greater window of invulnerability when you're at low load, hence clothes off
I don't think there are any bragging rights for playing no shield. It's just a playstyle (and a fun one). Pretty standard
I started with Bloodborne so shields have never really had an appeal for me
