I've given up trying to figure out who these people are and why they are mad at each other, but he at least seems to be related to big snake man from the base game. On account of all the snakes.

I keep seeing these lore videos pop up on YouTube and wonder where they got all this info from. I have absolutely no idea what’s going on.
Although it probably doesn’t help that I’ve seemingly failed or missed more or less every side quest.

I think a lot of it comes from item descriptions, but I haven't got a PhD in Elden Ring lore so I'm no expert. There's probably a little certificate on the last page of the book that you can tear out they says you're one. Explains the price
As far as I can tell, the story is basically the same as Dark Souls with the names changed. Not sure what the Game of Thrones man brought to it that they couldn't have done themselves (and have in the past)

On account of all the snakes. Messmer is yet another of Marika's spawns (her firstborn at that) and apparently also related to Melina. Rykard is Radagon/Renalla material, so technically he's not blood-related to Messmer. There's a bit more to it but it's tucked away in an area you might not even find and dialogue cues many missed |

Question about endings (no spoilers please)
I just happened upon Ranni while poking around the moon bit on the raised part of Limgrave and gave her the ring. Had no idea I was even looking for her to put the ring on but it sounds like it's unlocked an ending for her? That's probably the one I was going to go for anyway unless I get a better offer. She told me to follow the path of a Lord - my question is, does it matter if I kindle the flame using the girl (Marissa?) or the Flame of Frenzy?
I don't think I even found Ranni the intended way. I used Torrent to double jump into the hole in the side of the cliff from above it. Looked like there was a room you're suppose to drop down into

Aunty Treats Ranni does unlock one of the endings. (spoiler for how) After the final battle, you'll see a blue summon sign close by Burning the tree with the Flame of Frenzy is also the way to one, and (warning spoiler) I'm fairly certain it locks you out of every other ending (you can still do questlines but can't initiate any other ending). If you've already embraced the Three Fingers (and had a certain someone get mad at you) you're kind of already boned... unless you find a way to reverse it...

As for the Three Fingers, I don't think I've even heard of them and I'm not aware of anyone being mad at me. I did get as far as the door to the Flame of Frenzy but couldn't open it anyway and haven't been back

If you don't mind knowing how to open that door, you have to take off all armour and try opening it, there's a message that tells you somewhere around the door. There's a way to reverse it, but it veers into more spoiler territory so I won't elaborate unless you really wanna know. |

Like I said, they're right behind that door to the Flame of Frenzy that you didn't open, hence "one door away" close  They're the emissary for the Flame of Frenzy, sort of like how Marika represents the Greater Will/Golden Order and Ranni represents the moon And it's Melina that gets mad, and leaves you. She doesn't come back even if you figure out how to reverse it. |

BAYLE THE DREAD Is dead. I found the dragon right before much harder and resorted to cheese. Used the big Anti Dragon Katana for both.
Respeccd to use Rellana’s set which is cool as fuck. Will probably fall back to the blasphemous blade build when things get dicey but it’s a lot of fun.

Right. Just spent my day finishing off all the bosses left in the DLC. After that bullshit of a last boss everyone else was kinda not that bad, well apart from Scadutree Avatar that took 3 goes. Really hate big bosses with the agility of a ninja cat. But yeah all done. Hmmm. What now?
