That’s just made me realise - now that I’ve started the DLC and got access to Erdtree… if I go into NG+, will I still be able to get to the DLC via the map? It would be annoying to have to do Radahn and Mohg again in NG+ just to get back there.

Yeah, I believe you’d need to progress to that point in any play through

We are fostering a cat at the moment and the wife just sent me these two photos of her. Couldn't resist turning them into a meme.

Reminds me of Laxasia’s sword in Lies of P. Pretty much gets its own cutscene, then it turns into a bottle opener when you unlock it

What is missing from this game (and others in the genre, apart from Sekiro IIRC) is a way to re-fight bosses outside of NG+. Wouldn't that be nice to have? Once you've beaten a boss and progressed the story, to be able to re-enter the arena and re-initiate the fight? No experience points, no extra drops of any kind, just the opportunity to try out other strategies, different builds or weapons! I'd love that

I rarely want to see a boss after I have killed them, they just get in the way of the exploring bit that I enjoy 😂

Not sure what's so controversial about that... Players loved that feature in Sekiro and I've seen many wanting its reintroduction. Especially in a game like Elden Ring with so many weapons and spells to try And it's not like the bosses would just respawn, you'd choose to refight them yourself whenever you wanted

Haha, no I get what you mean, for the practicing angle. It's just that's the one part of souls games I can't stand. I just want the pricks out the way so I can enjoy what I like about the games. I.e., everything except bosses

That's OK, I get that! It's just a pity that some boss fights that you might actually enjoyed, for example Stan & Ollie from DS1, Dancer or Gael from DS3, or the Dancing Lion in the DLC are no longer available to you, unless you choose to help other players (which may be a rare opportunity for the older games) or engage in NG+.
After all, the arena is there, the bonfire is there, just add an option in the boss's bonfire menu to revive the boss and you are done!

Always surprises me to hear people don't like the bosses in these games
As for fighting bosses again, ER seems to have addressed it by making you fight all the bosses multiple times. It's interesting that they make you fight weaker versions of some of them before the real one. Part of the greater accessibility by allowing players to learn the fight a bit before the proper one? Morgott didn't take me nearly as long as Margit even though he's probably the harder fight. Makes some of them a bit less imposing when you've already seen/fought/killed them

Yeah I understand my angle is a bit odd as bosses are a huge part of it, but I still do not like them but still play these games because I like the adventure aspect so I do get something out of them. It's why I like things like dragons dogma, that's perfect for me as the bosses are far more manageable

Never played Dragon's Dogma. Wasn't there all kinds of controversy around the second one? ER has put me back in the Souls zone so I've got all the From games wishlisted on Xbox for sale opportunities. Feeling like a bit of Sekiro. I've already got LotF so might download and start that again

And be sad that I can't play BB or the Demon's Soul remake (although I've heard it's shit and good)

Demons' Souls Remake is fucking great. I had always bounced off Souls games before but something in my brain just clicked with that one and then I went back to BB and something clicked there and then straight onto Elden Ring and that was just exceptional. The expansion less so as while it has its moments it does seem to lean into the git gud mentality a bit too much.

I like to see the boss and watch their intro if they have one. Then I don't mind fighting them a few times but if they have some of the bullshit involved then I would happily press a button to insta-kill them.

It's got a very good strong point for me and that's the satisfying combat and a very good sense of place, which is pretty much all I need tbh.

Very nice book, but you can do one at the prices "It's currently available for preorder and expected to ship in 2025, although such premium printing comes with a hefty asking price. Pundits can expect to pay $276 for the baseline Collector's Edition, with options for a $773 Limited Edition and the lordly Benefactor's Edition, which will break the bank at $1105. Still, your name will be forever immortalized in the book itself. Can you really put a price on that kind of legacy"? Umm yeah twitter.com/i/status/1811041577193652420Better be REAL gold embossing

I have the bb and sekiro art books, beautiful but I never look at them.
Got myself upto 19 and found another mausoleum and he was a prick to fight but the armour set is interesting. Boost damage but also incoming. I like being a glass cannon so might try it out. Would be nice if all the talismans etc actually had the stat info so you didn’t have to google check everything.
Might start my first ng+ as there isn’t much left to do. Can I still do co op with my kid if I goto ng+?

I have their other releases and got the pre-order email the other day, but did not check it out due to heavy workload; at these prices they can certainly do one!!!

I did find some of the later bosses a bit of a chore, but it was mostly great. It also gives you a good BB look and feel if you can't play the real thing.

I've played BB to death (would still play it again) but I've only played a bit of the original Demon's Souls. From what I've read it's basically proto-souls (and DS is better) and the remake changed a lot of the visual design, so I don't need a PS5. I can live without Nioh 2 and the new one. Definitely don't need a PS5
Hopefully Xbox have a big sale soon. All the From games are still priced silly for their age
