Wunty clearly in the bizarro world of From games, with views on DS2 and liking the Lion boss . Rellana was also one of the easier bosses for me! Ha. To be fair I took her on too early. I should have found more skibidibbydibyodadubdub fragments.
I'm now on 16 of those blessings. Which is nice. Anyone know how much the sprit ones go up to?
Completed a quest that gave me quite cool sprit ashes, which I was then able to upgrade to something even more awesome, and I'd like to use them but my spirit / torrent level hasn't been upgraded for a bit.

wunty - level 10 (not sure if I should spoiler) Agree about the flame bucket heads. They need a nerf, little fun in fighting them, it’s just tedious

I mean, I don't have any particularly strong feelings for DS2, but I liked the Lion boss too... Granted, I'm using summons like Wunty, but the music alone (and the way it moves and even changes attacks -in the second phase- according to the soundtrack, like an actual dance) was stunning... And there's way worse bosses in the DLC in terms of unfair movesets IMO

Okay, my final word on Abyssal woods: From have done something remarkable here, something possibly unprecedented in Soulsbornes.
They've made a level that is dull and stupid in equal measure.
I'd say the Manse made up for it but that lasted about five minutes, which incidentally is the same length of time it took to trudge across a fraction of the woods heroically slaying rats.

Edit - RE the Dancing Lion
It looks stunning... but it is a nightmare to actually fight and parse what is going on, along with lots of camera issues.
To be fair to it though, it was much more manageable when I came back to it after getting a few more fragments. Regardless, what I really have learnt from this DLC is that I much, much prefer the humanoid From bosses (excluding those that are riding big bulls).

Tip for the Furnace Golems If you craft a Hefty Furnace Pot (the recipe is in a small house on a cliff under the Ellac Great bridge, close to the Greatbridge North grace), make the giant fall, do the critical hit then toss the pot in the giant bowl in its head, you kill it there and then. And all of them drop Furnace Visages to replace the one you used for the pot. There's a hint text for that trick but I can't remember exactly where I found it, I think it was right outside the Shadow Keep gate in a camp with lots of Furnace Visages lying around.
That said, some Furnace Golems have armoured legs, and can only be defeated by getting to higher ground (there's a convenient Spiritspring nearby for the two I found) and lobbing Hefty Furnace Pots into the bowl a few times, so I opted to defeat the others the hard way. Wasn't too bad, just tedious

Just spent two full hours trying to help other people beat the final boss, without a single success.

Video proof: If you're using the right pot (only Hefty Furnace Pots do that much damage, other fire pots work but you need more), maybe your critical hit and/or pot just aren't strong enough, and there's talismans to boost both even aside from any Scadutree fragment business

Yes. Not just spiders, but scorpion spiders no less. Big long hairy spider legs. Freak me the fuck out. Them and the finger creepers can go to hell.
I hate the finger creepers so much I think they are one of my favourite enemies ever. Nothing beats hearing a scuttling sound and turning around to find one of the huge ones skittering it's way towards you.

It's the way they suddenly all drop around you (or on you). Creepy.

You can dodge the fire stomp, but think the timing has to be incredibly precise. I managed to do it 3 times in a row once almost right under its feet when I ran out of flasks to revive the horse and do his double jump over the flames. Thought I finally nailed the timing and then couldn't repeat it again. I really recommend jumping (even on foot) because it gives you a much more forgiving time window than dodge rolling. I'm pretty sure this is intended, as there are other examples in the game of ground AOEs that are almost impossibly precise for dodge rolling, like the Tree Sentinel's shield slam, or some stomping AOEs of Godfrey, Radagon, Crucible Knight, Trolls, etc. Try to jump over those and it should be much easier.

So me and Barry no.2 with full Radahn armour and +10 dragon hunter katanas kind of make the bayle fight a bit of a cakewalk. Which is a relief.

That big fire giant thing is scary. I've nfi how you're meant to kill it, it just explodes everywhere constantly. It really looks like there's no way to avoid the stomping fire, but actually only the flame front hurts you, if you jump over that the "afterburn" won't hurt you. Might be useful to remember in some other parts of this DLC too. It's super easy to avoid completely.
Just use torrent and double jump. If you're in the air it won't hit you. If the giant jumps in the air get about 20m or so away from it to ensure the fireball doesn't get you then double jump toward it to avoid the fire wave on the ground.

So then. The Abyssal Woods eh? Quite the place to do alone at night... brrrr...
Bright side, I think I'm on course to collect every single Scadufragment and Revered Ash with much less guide usage than I expected! I need 9 and 6 respectively, have 1 Scadutree fragment and I think the areas I haven't been to have 8 and 6, so...
