I love the jump attack! Combat seems to want you to play more aggressively than Dark Souls, no? Or perhaps that's just my build. Beat a particularly intimidating mini-boss using jump attacks and viscerals, and was rewarded with a cool looking strength weapon that I can't equip yet.
Ah, great to be back exploring a From world for the first time. Magical stuff.

Jesus christ. Ran away from God knows what on a black steed, only to run into what the fuck it was 2 giants were dragging down a path. Hid bravely in some shrubbery until all was calm.

Okay I'm done. Bit tired now after 12 hours.  . Think I just stopped at level 36 ish. Couple away from 40 strength now so I can equip the beast boss weapon. |

I literally decided to buy this today, and had been avoiding all pre-press, videos, etc., and wow, it's quite a trip. It's very much slicker than I expected (in a good way) and beautiful and huge and apparently in the like 8 years since I last seriously played Dark Souls I got WAY worse at this kind of game (I was deadly good at Demon's Souls and pretty good at Dark Souls, back on the PS3), I can't fight for toffee though the smooth controls and outdoor locations make backstabbing very easy. I need someone to teach me how to use a shield, I think, maybe YouTube will. Whatever I'm doing it's wrong. But it's pretty amazing. The vibe. The vistas. The style.

I assume there are pro gamers who already beat the "you're supposed to lose" opening boss without taking a hit. But Frank Dux is naked, and has no shield.
I probably shouldn't be surprised, but I am a little surprised by how "Dark Souls but with the serial numbers filed off" this is. It feels basically identical.

It's amazing. I'm literally wandering about a world at night with terrifying mother fuckers everywhere and then stumble onto some ruins, kick the shit out of everyone and then move on to something too large and mental to comprehend. Stunning.

It's so odd (in a good way). I completely ninja-ed my way round the first encampment, then when I got caught and had to go loud it's suddenly Dark Souls. With jumping attacks!
I just fought a dungeon boss and I was jumping over his attacks to smack him in the face, it looks and feels amazing.
I could keep playing, but 3 1/2 hours is probably enough for now, half my joints have seized.

Most deaths- fall damage while trying to get down to a beach
I like the confessor so far, decent sword and 100% physical block shield are more than adequate for now. Whoever said it’s a Paladin-type class was right, definitely meant for melee with a bit of magic rather than full magic.
Fantastic so far, this is something really special
