Ventured a bit further and by bit I mean a lot. Into the Dragon Pit and clearing it I went further to the foot of the mountain. Got some amazing metal cover visuals, including the massive dead dragon and venturing out East actually took me out way beyond East, so much so the map's now expanded out. Continued on the path, slaying all dragons in the way (excpet for Sennessax) til I reached the peak. Bayle seems appropiately difficult and considering there's an NPC questline involved to include him in the fight, I think I will do that. Eventually, as I've not even fully explored the starting area . Some of these locations are incredible to look at

Question about Godrick (who I've also decided I want to beat before I level up) I've basically skipped everything in Limgrave so far- if I kill Godrick, will that lock me out of any NPC questlines? Got him. Had to get naked to do it
Forgot about load/dodge. Would have helped against Margit. Need some cool looking light armour and to decide what weapon I want to use. Got loads of upgrade stones
Probably going to wander around Limgrave for the next 20 hours now

It would probably be worth revising the memo to say 'NO, SERIOUSLY. FIND SOME OR YOU WILL DIE'. It *really* did a bad job of emphasising how important they are and it would definitely have avoided a lot of the difficulty complaints if it had been a bit more explicit.
I know being oblique is its 'thing' but, christ, people are taking in characters they put 100s of hours into. You would absolutely expect to be able to hang out with the first enemies you reach.

The more I play of this the more I absolutely love it. Me and the boy are just exploring together and one of us will always get to a bit another one hasn't been yet. There's SO much here I can fully appreciate why it took so long.

Some of these locations are incredible to look at I ventured there and stopped at the site of grace thinking I should probably get more blessings before heading further in there. Again though, feeling slightly anxious about progression as there IS SO MUCH MAP. I haven't done a single story beat yet, just going around the map and slowly discovering new areas. Should probably commit to some concrete steps for my next playthrough. Might attempt the first golem to try and get that shield tear as that sounds very helpful indeed (have my trusty mirror shield, which looks great with my silver tear mask - fashion souls, yay!), then try and close the western loop of the opening area before delving deeper.

As I was playing last night I was thinking something's really off here with damage scaling and wouldn't be surprised if they patched it and lo and behold.

Huh. Well, guess I beat a certain boss last night before it was cool they made the blessings better? I don't remember if it updated before I played... (I'll elaborate further on the boss later, with the video)

They've also ramped their pot and finger fetish up to 11. Not only that, but if I wasn't weirded out enough by the fucking finger creepers, they've now put scorpions in here, with big weird hairy spider legs. Oh and some of them fly. They make me feel quite ill

Its either that or yet another enemy with an AOE. No bum hugging allowed in this game.

I'm up to Scad +12 and those spinny, dual wielding freaks you meet right at the start of the DLC are still absolute assholes. Horrible lunging gits.

I'm starting to think some of you guys don't have any ranged options at all Which is fair, everyone plays how they like, but while I can see how some of the enemies mentioned are assholes up close, a few spells/ranged Ashes to the bum before you properly engage help a lot

I actually went in on Mogwyns Spear yesterday for that exact reason. I was getting outpoked by literally everything.
I do have ranged spells but even being all in on arcane and carrying the dragon seal, they do fuck all damage so they just aren't worth the hassle for me.

I don't use ranged attacks. My spells are all buffs for my big fuck off mace. I've found most enemies in the overworld to be manageable through non-stop staggering.
Definitely feeling like I'm way too under levelled on the scadutree whatsits. Think I just hit +6, maybe +7 (ashes I think are at 5). Feel like I may have to find a guide to dig out the many that I've walked right past.
Ran into a boss on the back of a big bull last night and have absolutely no idea how I'm supposed to fight it. Horseback seems impossible to get any hits in, whilst being on foot just makes me get instantly trampled.

PLUS... I think I've said this earlier, but that weapon art on the Sacred Relic sword is the GOAT for me. I am obliterating groups of enemies with 2 or 3 swings of Wave of Gold, and because of how I'm specced I have plenty of FP and it does considerable damage. As an example, there is an area outside of the lava pipe dungeon with groups of enmies fighting each other, and I can easily do a quick loop of them wiping them all out in no time at all.

I've gotten good usage from ranged spells against regular mobs in the DLC. Fucking useless against bosses due their aggression. But gurranq's rock throw for groups is ace and frenzied burst is basically my personal sniper rifle.

For ranged I'm using my black bow +10 and I have 600 bleed, magic or holy arrows to choose from. It's weapon art is some kind of rapid fire shit so I just stand there proccing bleed from afar.

I miss my sacred relic sword. It's on another character who is on NG+++ and although at end game, hasn't killed Mohg yet. Don't know if I can face it.

Can't believe I haven't got this yet, but Rise of the Ronin just keeps on going! I think I must have decapitated 75% of Japan by now.

I'm sometimes questioning the wisdom behind the ban on ranged attacks in my saves, but hey I don't make the rules

It was like a Crucible Knight with a big hammer that controlled all the space around him also with an exaggerated windup, naturally, was able to jump around at will. Oh and he had an ability to sprout a flower from his head that ejected beam projectiles. Fun.

Not like those knight type, multiple combo, lunging, no poise damage fucks. I should use Radahn's bow a bit more, that is true.

I might go back to mage/moonlight samurai build. Not having ranged spells is killing me and I'm doing fuck all poise damage with Malenia sword+10 and RoB+10.

I remember a while ago trying to do a bow only run of Dark Souls (can't recall if I used other ranged as well). Was actually a lot of fun and think I managed to get to the Four Kings. Couldn't beat them though as my damage output just wasn't high enough to take them out before getting mobbed.
Should try that again in some of the other games.

Honestly whoever put the summon symbol in a boss fight where you get fuck all time to do anything can go fuck themselves. There really are some baffling boss design choices in this and I really hope they don't carry over to their next game.

They have actually made it easier at the start with a patch today, I should have probably downloaded it before I played.
