As expected the final area is just annoying like all final areas in their games. Every enemy kills you instantly if you make one mistake.
I think I’ll go explore and try and find how to get to two areas. There’s this green area on my map that I just can’t work out how to get to. I’ve been right next to it but I must have missed a door or a lift etc and then there’s a greyed out area with a map icon on but again I’m not sure how to reach it.
Map wise it’s definitely by far their best dlc yet. I got an item to use off some random npc and accidentally found the place to use it and I was rewarded with a talisman that greatly increases the strength of the heal flask!
I have so many secret notes and maps to investigate as well.
I’ve been a bit of a tourist as well, taking loads of screenshots at all the beautiful things I’m seeing on my holiday.

15 hours in and I'm sick of roaming around without ever finding anything of interest. Found the weapons I knew about and was looking forward to, but sadly they're not as good or fun as what I've been using from the base game. I believe I'm far from halfway through and it's already just a chore I need to complete for some reason.
Funny how I said in my Dark Souls 3 review that it just made me want to play Elden Ring instead, because lately SotE just makes me want to play DS3 again. I'll return to that some day but right now I'm playing Shantae because inbetween SotE I need something that's actually some fun.

A must buy. Difficulty is about the same as the later areas of the main game. Great map with a lot of reused assets but some of the later areas are absolutely epic and some of their best yet. Some bs bosses but nothing worse than what we’ve experienced before.
There are a couple of cool armour sets, one I especially like as it is a copy of a well know villain from something outside of From softwares world.
Also if you like dragons this dlc has you covered

I've loved it so far (although don't think I'm particularly far into it). Absolutely gorgeous in places and level design is top tier. It very much feels like a miniaturised version of Elden Ring and the more focused scale has a lot of benefits.
I've not found it too difficult, Lion boss aside (and seems like that boss is actually one you can save until later as it leads to a currently inaccessible area), so perhaps that colours my view. Perhaps I've just lucked out with my build.

Right today is the day I spend on this game, threw all the shit I don't need out of the apartment, donating extra clothes to the clothes bank tonight and there's only one time fixture for the Euros so today is the day!

I'm enjoying it a fair bit less than most of the others here. The world is still great and brilliant to explore but the gameplay is stacked full of the shit that normally niggles me in their other games but it's everywhere here.
It's a shame as Elden ring was a top 3 game for me of all time but this just isn't as good to me (YMMV).
The base game for me is an easy 10/10, where as this has been a 6.5/7 for me.

I can see why a lot of players would have issues in this as there are a lot more mobs and ambush’s then the main game. Fortunately for me I had melanias blade maxed out which comfortably deals with these areas.
Also I had to cheese a lot more than usual. There is an area with these twat red enemies before an insanely hard boss that I had to camera lock, then bait them near a door way or corner and just before they came through I’d use the swords special move to stun lock them. Otherwise they were just full of relentless combos and fire attacks.
I also feel the tailsmans make little difference. I have the fire +2 and it made little difference in the damage I was taking in that area.

In the limited time I've played the things that have annoyed me are the:
-what seems like imbalanced damage scaling from enemies from the off
-a ridiculous amount of ambush attacks
-from a range that encompasses field enemies to bosses having ridiculous combo lengths giving you a millisecond to get your turn in
-stone gargoyles. More specifically the cannonball ones .

I'm gearing up to start this and I feel like the best thing I can do is grind up a few levels so I can remove any Soreseals I'm still wearing and still have the stats (not necessarily the full total of 20 they give, just things like keeping my Endurance at 35 instead of 30 and such)... Because they reduce your damage negation so much that I don't think they're worth it any more, especially if you don't mind getting the levels elsewhere
If any of you happen to still have any equipped, try putting something else on, it might help with the initial fragility

I have 60 vigor and 57% physical damage negation and still bosses hit me for 60-80% of my health bar. They don't fucking care

For the boss fights I’ve been going physical shield, magic shield and pearl drake for elemental and it’s made a massive difference to survivability. It also makes your mimic tear an absolute tank. Mine hung out close quarters through the whole moon knight fight and still finished with a respectable chunk of health left. Unless you’re a Pro Gamer I’ve found playing like a pussy the way forward and trading defence for damage has helped a lot. |

I don't think there is such a thing as "playing like a pussy" when it comes to Soulslikes tbh  Maybe in Bloodborne it's a bad idea? And the Niohs I suppose, if they count... But otherwise not really |

Got the first back blade weapon and the Ash of War is like a cheat mode against shielded enemies. At +24 it packs a decent punch also.

Has anyone checked out the boss items yet? I haven’t bothered to look just yet but I feel like I’ve found loads of the items that get them to level 10

Stuck deep in a catacomb and fuck me these gargoyle ambushes with mages who cast projectiles that bounce around off walls and lessen your endurance on hit are just the height of bullshit. Oh and spiked ceilings that fall down on a timer.

Wait until you find the leeches that shoot ranged paralysis at you whilst their mates grab you and almost one shot you.
That whole bit of the map felt really empty though and it was a bit weird so I may not be supposed to be there yet.

Apparently resistance is all about the scadutree fragments, it doesn't matter what level you are going in you have to level up its own thing. Also, don't have any soreseals / scarseals.
I absolutely love it.

Your mileage may vary obviously, I had two on when I started but once I respecced I dispensed with them.
It is incredibly important to note that I killed an *annoying boss type (I can't remember how to do spoilers)* by KICKING IT IN THE FACE. Game of the year right there.

Thought I'd respec to carry both Rivers of Blood+10 and Hand of Malenia+10 and just fought some knight fellow called moon Carian Knight and I think I only let him me twice until I jumped in and just wailed on him. It was quite nice.

I think everyone heard me say fuck you in my apartment building as I beat the cunt. I'm sure there are abnormal people beating that one on one with a gaming mat but fuuuuuuuck while that was boss was enjoyable from an achievement level it absolutely sucked balls with the minimal amount of time one person would have to deal damage.
Got greedy the second attempt as I was nowhere close enough to let ROB have an affect. Took 6 goes in the end. Have I finished the game now?
