I think everyone heard me say fuck you in my apartment building as I beat the cunt. I'm sure there are abnormal people beating that one on one with a gaming mat but fuuuuuuuck while that was boss was enjoyable from an achievement level it absolutely sucked balls with the minimal amount of time one person would have to deal damage. Haha yesterday i was surprised i didn’t have the police at the door. I was fighting the boss on the cover art with head set on with the back door open. During that hour I was shouting ‘for fucks sake’ or ‘oh fuck off’ or ‘stop chasing me! Attack the fucking mimic you cunt’ Or ‘I fucking dodged that, fucking bullshit twat cunt’ at very high volumes. Once it was dead I went outside to get the washing in and realised the neighbours had family over for a chill in the garden…..

Thought I'd respec to carry both Rivers of Blood+10 and Hand of Malenia+10 and just fought some knight fellow called moon Carian Knight and I think I only let him me twice until I jumped in and just wailed on him. It was quite nice. Yeah that’s my combo and it’s got me to the end boss with only once or twice using something else. Rivers of blood with mimic wrecks most bosses and hand of malenia got me through the areas before the bosses. Does it matter which sword you hold on the right and which on the left hand?
I'm trying this two handed combo and no luck so far, that Carrian cunt is wrecking me in no time (as every slightly stronger enemy). I'm this -><- close to check out a guide for all the early level-up blessings...

I find it far more effective to just two hand one of the two, depending on the enemy/situation. The duel wield combo is just a bit shit. Two handing gives a 50% damage boost and staggers better as well. The charged heavy attack two handed staggers most normal sized enemies for the crit stab.

I'm the opposite I find dual wielding both katanas gets more hits and the jump attack is great.

It took me so long that when I won I dropped my controller and ran out into the street. Purely for his amusement of course but also I think I’d gone a little insane.

Some are hidden but the vast majority just come through natural exploring and progressing. Most are obvious along your path playing the game.

Two handing gives a 50% damage boost and staggers better as well. I suppose you mean +50% STR, not damage? The direct HP damage bonus from two-handing is pretty small actually. And even the +50% STR doesn't do much in this case because these are DEX weapons with negligible STR scaling

Yeah true! But it does give a damage boost but for more importantly it wrecks poise and shields where duel wielding doesn’t. I find most enemies just ignore getting hit when duel wield and hit you through it. Two handed mostly stops them and the charge attack gets critical staggers.
The benefit of duel is your get the bleed to trigger faster. But I’m either using rivers that triggers it fast anyway or hand of melania that stun locks most enemies.

Yeah true, for stagger/stance damage 2H is best. Powerstancing is better for HP damage and status effects, but imho katanas don't have the best powerstance moveset in the world. Not as good as curved/straight swords at least.

Not too far, scraping around the tower settlement area. Do agree that there are bosses which take the mick. In earlier games it's like avoiding one area clearing attack from a boss made you feel invincible. Dodging all those lightning attacks for the 4th time in a row from the Dancing Lion and in my head I was thinking about what to get for dinner tomorrow. Some of the bosses back in the day with these multi hit combos felt special because it was an anomoly, they were different from anything else in the game. Now Im getting my shit kicked in by a heavily armored no name enemy that just launched himself across 30ft in one second to kick me out of healing. To that end I think Darkgaol Knight was the most "fair" so far? Limited moves but hits like a brick, keeping you on your toes.
Still, one of the big realisations I had going back in was having to approach the new setting like I did the first time playing ER again. I got interested seeing an abandoned settlement in the distance and seeing what's there. Feels like they even did a better job bringing in layered Dark Souls level design to locations in the open world too. The village you come across at the start with its little traversal path to find hidden items. Nice to have that level of detail and intrigue show up more across the map. And so far, the side/smaller dungeons are so much more interesting than the ones in the base game. The exploration still remains my favourite aspect about the series, even found a hidden dungeon underneath the first castle and I'm itching to get back to it.

Spent hours on this today, I’m +8/+5 on DLC and it’s mainly starting to click a bit. Done quite a few bosses and agree with Jambo on that cheaty lighting twat, but he’s done. Still loving it on the whole, but have a couple of moans Bosses need to chill a bit when you first go in. I’m summoning my mimic, so I get a health penalty don’t do your fucking super ranged charged bullshit and take me out at the start. You fucker. Those walking fire giants can get tae fuck. They have way too much health, devastating attacks and way, way too much health I’ll spoiler this one as he might be someone’s idea of a nice surprise. the woods south of the starting area have a Hugh Jackman guy strutting around. He hits like a FUCKING TRUCK and doesn’t stop until you’re dead. Good luck is all I’ll say

Yeah I’m near the end and still haven’t even bothered with the walking fire giants. I hit one a few times, found out it did no damage and that all its attacks either one taps or two taps. Nah I’m good thanks.

With the fire giant its basically get in Torrent, wack it's feet a bunch, it'll eventually collapse to the ground and you HAVE to get to it's face, get off Torrent and attack the big glow point on its face. Does the critical hit animation and half it's health comes off. Just do it twice and it's over. It's just staying alive that matters.

The basic ones that is. There are others that take no damage from being hit in the feet.

I did him first go but I never like the inconsistencies between you and enemies who don't seem to follow the same rules in gameplay mechanics, it's essentially cheating on the game's part.

Played enough for the day. Thoughts are that this game's quirks have been turned up to 11 here for better and worse imo. Funnily enough for the invaders it feels like they've taken play styles from actually human players especially one prick who kept jump attacking over and over.

I witnessed Rellana's boss fight through DadFE's playthrough... Stunning, if vicious, fight, and her swords have an equally stunning moveset! It's a good thing neither those nor the Martial Arts require Strength, otherwise I'd have to level up literally every stat

Hate to see how high this goes once I'm maxed on the skibidi blessings Don't really love the system though. I get that it's meant to help emulate that feeling of being able to go elsewhere to get more powerful then come back for bosses despite being late game where stat increases are more marginal, but the power bumps from each level up are so huge that a lot of things just feel pointless even tackling without hunting for these things first, rather than being an optional traipse.

Oops. Think I was overspecced for dancing friend. That was over quite fast. That whole area is awesome though.

Re: number of scadutree blessing levels: Apparently there are 50 seeds and you can get up to level twenty! Last night I explored a forest of cocks and found a large chilli pepper hanging out to dry. Seems like I need to get something else first to activate it. Then found one of those teleporter things and got beamed half way across the map into an entirely new area. Great video here on the importance of blessing level and why damage negation and talismans have a bigger effect than you think (this vid has only minor spoilers for first DLC area, just listen to the audio only for no spoilers at all):

Ooooooh I haven’t found the teleporter! Was it near the chilli? Your reward for that is a big buff to your heal flask. Also holy shit I’m about 9 and 6! No wonder it’s nails.

The teleporter was not far from Castle Ensis after the Rellana fight.
